Those ads are ****ing terrible. Among the worst Apple have ever made. They tell you absolutely nothing about why the iPhone is any better than an alternative.
It doesn't go over technical aspects but it's pretty clear what advantages they are touting in these ads. Security -- it's easier to get into other phones than into an iPhone. Smooth -- other phones are choppy/glitchy compared to iPhones.

So they make sense to a non-technical user but leave something to be desired if you understand the technical aspects.

So you are still not switching but you are one of the first 7 posts on this thread?
Maybe they were eager to let you know they aren't switching.:)
Curious, what does being among the first to post have to with a desire to switch or not?

On topic: Meh ads again. This latest series of 15 sec spots have been less than compelling imo.

That's because they don't have to tell you. Simple ads are the most successful. Apple is one of the largest and well known companies in the world. Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock already knows the iPhone is the most smooth and secure smartphone in the world. They just made these ads as a little motivational push for consumers.

Yes, they do, or at least allude to it. Watching a dumbwitted burglar hit a glass wall doesn't tell me anything about how iOS is better than Android. And I'm a (disenchanted, admittedly) iOS user here.

These are nothing more than cute cheerleader ads that back up the thoughts of Apple's base.

Good job moderators. Love coming to these forums filled with Apple haters/trolls disguised as owners...rushing to get the most visible catchy one liner comment.

Then make an iPhone worth switching to, Apple.

Not another rehash of the iPhone 6 with a patchy iOS.

Said as a 100% iPhone user since 3G (and largely disillusioned since iPhone 5S)

You must have not picked up the 7, it's so much different from the 6. Try using the device before passing judgement.

And I think it's clear Apple is changing things up this year. Wouldn't you rather they take their time then produce a RUSHED product?

Someone needs to go back to bed and get more sleep and then take a look again.

What are the record numbers of people switching seeing that you aren't?

What's different is that I cannot use my favourite pair of earphones (already lost 2 adaptors), cannot listen to music and charge without a fugly dongle, and the home button feels like a clunky trackpad. For all intents and purposes, it's THE SAME PHONE with a few extra buzzes when flipping toggles. Even for "bells and whistles" standards, that's infinitesimal to merit a 2-year iteration.

I'd rather they got their ***** act together. "Taking time" was understandable 15 years ago when they were a struggling company on the verge of extinction. Apple today has 100K employees, the best R&D money can afford, hundreds of billions in the bank and a trillion dollar valuation. The current state of their products is inexcusable.

What are the record numbers of people receiving an iPhone 7 as a company issued phone, as in my case, and how does it contribute to the sum total?

I don't get the first one... is there in any difference between how the people jump, or what?

I think they want to show that taking over your contacts from your old phone to the new iPhone works flawlessly. So basically you can pay a fortune for that or just keep your old phone which performs equally good haha ...

It's that easy, huh?

Even with the dongle, you can't use headphones that have an inline android remote. The remote not working is to be expected, but Apple's software is so shoddy, all you get is endless clicks blasting your ear as soon as you plug in the headphones. Unless they do it on purpose to sell more beats crap, but it still means the switch is not that easy.

i'm just curious. (as I haven't cared to buy an iPhone since the 5s), but, what is different between the 6s and 7? besides some re-arranged antennae lines and no headphone port?

When I got my S8+ I looked at the iPhone 7 Plus and put them side by side. Sorry Apple your design looks about 5 years behind the Galaxy S8 series. I also have an iPad Air 2 and it's been a good device, but iOS gets more quirky with each update. Just the other day the headphone jack quit working on the iPad for no reason and I had to restart it to make it functional again. Lately I've been doing a lot more restarts to fix things in iOS then I have been with Android. 2-3 years ago it was the exact opposite.

What is the difference? I currently have a 7 plus, my wife has the 6s plus. I very much regret not going with the 6s.

The only difference I can see is the missing headphone jack. I have the 128 gig model with over 100 gig free, my wife has a 64 gig and she's always filling it up with the camera. I can't convince her to trade with me for the extra space and better camera because she won't give up her headphone jack.

Also, the screen on my 4 year old Galaxy S4 is still far superior to the iPhone 7 screen.

Well, first of all, kudos to your company for investing in upgrading your phone to the state of the art Apple world of smart phones and welcome to a whole lot better and safer experience. Although Google is undoubtedly disappointed that there is less of your private information being fed into your "master identifying number file," you surely appreciate the greater privacy and security.

And I am sure that as cybersecurity threats only increase, more companies will decide that saving a few dollars is not worth the sacrifice in security. Moreover, it's also undoubtedly correct that the recent IBM study that showed how much companies save in tech support by switching to iPhones and other Apple products that more than pays for any increased hardware costs will lead more and more companies to switch to the iPhone. To determine the percentage of business versus personal switchers is probably only known to Apple. We can, however, intuit a sense of it. In just one recent quarter, there were nearly 15 million switchers, so it's hard to imagine that many companies switching in just one quarter, and I would hazard a guess that the clear majority of those are personal purchases. Again, congrats on the update.

Are you a bot?

What "whole lot better and safer experience" are you blabbering about that the iPhone 6s didn't already provide?

PS. The iPhone 7 truly is my "office phone". Outside work hours, I don't even wanna touch that thing.

If privacy and security are your priorities and you're willing to take a more limited restricted device for it (like an iPhone), then iPhone is not the way to go.

Android is open source and there are many privacy/security based phones out there. This is blackberry's current focus. There's also the moto Z.

I dunno - could be a fluke that they posted quickly as soon as the article came online here - I agree that the timing means nothing.

It just seems like there are many people who are not Apple fans who, for some reason, are eager to read the latest Apple rumours. It shows me that they say they don't care, but actually they do care about whatever Apple is doing. Like why post that bit about "not switching" - if you are happy with Android, would you be patrolling the Apple forums? Hope you see where I am coming from on that. Not a big deal, but just something I notice because I am definitely an Apple Fan Boy.

On topic - yeah, I did not even watch the adverts - just the security one and I did like that one. To me the whole campaign is set up to end with the "security" advert - that one truly gets a point across that your "Android" phone is crawling with hackers and the "iPhone" is secure and good. That's the gestalt I get out of it without even watching the segments.

Waterproofing, added haptic responses, different hard reset button combo, and general annoyance.

New stereo speakers with twice the volume, new screen, better battery, new faster, (40% faster ) more powerful chip, great new cameras front and back, with optical image stabilzation, new quad LED flash system, new six element camera lens with larger, better low light lens, with of course, new dual lens system, double base memory storage, new colors, etc.

Android phones more secure??? You've given the whole thread a nice break of laughter. Thanks for the humor.
