That's because they don't have to tell you. Simple ads are the most successful. Apple is one of the largest and well known companies in the world. Anyone who hasn't been living under a rock already knows the iPhone is the most smooth and secure smartphone in the world. They just made these ads as a little motivational push for consumers.

Yep, for 90% of people, these say more than any sort of spec/feature ad would.

Hey everybody, we've got APFS! Nobody cares.
Hey everybody, iPhones help keep the bad guys from getting your data. Excellent.

i'm just curious. (as I haven't cared to buy an iPhone since the 5s), but, what is different between the 6s and 7? besides some re-arranged antennae lines and no headphone port?

New stereo speakers with twice the volume, new screen, better battery, new faster, (40% faster ) more powerful chip, great new cameras front and back, with optical image stabilzation, new quad LED flash system, new six element camera lens with larger, better low light lens, with of course, new dual lens system, double base memory storage, new colors, etc.

Stereo speakers: Sounds the same, distorts/hisses on high volumes.
Better battery: ROFL
Faster performance, better cameras, OIS, Flash, low light photography: imperceptible at best
Dual lens: only the Plus
Colors: it's going into a case anyway

Do you have own-use experience? Or do you get everything from the promo spreadsheet?

What is the difference? I currently have a 7 plus, my wife has the 6s plus. I very much regret not going with the 6s.

The only difference I can see is the missing headphone jack. I have the 128 gig model with over 100 gig free, my wife has a 64 gig and she's always filling it up with the camera. I can't convince her to trade with me for the extra space and better camera because she won't give up her headphone jack.

Also, the screen on my 4 year old Galaxy S4 is still far superior to the iPhone 7 screen.

So you are still not switching but you are one of the first 7 posts on this thread?
So it happened. Saw the headline, hit reply, didn't count the posts.

Chill out, my comment was meant to be humorous - after all, these ads are aimed at me, not at you, and I enjoy watching Apple flailing.

I imagine another series:

"Why copy files when you can waste your life with iTunes?"
"Switch to the iPhone, where everything takes more taps, swipes and clicks than on your old phone!"
"Why not give us twice the money for less functionality?"
"Give up Google Maps, Inbox, Photos, Assistant - use our own ****** versions!"
"Why would you want a customizable phone? Switch to a cookie-cutter iPhone!"

... and so forth

Ugh hate seeing Apple this desperate.

Apple spends millions on marketing every year through various sources of media on the iPhone. This is far from screaming "Desperate." Advertising the iPhone keeps the product refreshed and is a means to show its capabilities throughout its cycle.

I currently own an iPhone 6S... if Apple don't innovate again with the next iPhone I'm really considering moving back to Android aka Galaxy S8. :/

Depending on the Android phone your comparing the iPhone to the smooth and security videos are misleading at best. I can't remember the last Android phone I had that wouldn't play video smoothly. My LG G3 and G4 played video smoothly. My S7 edge was smooth and the S8+ is silky smooth. That ad is pretty misleading. I mean my Moto Droid from 2009 might have stuttered a bit on video, but let's be real here.

My S8+ has Samsung Knox with hardware level encryption and has nice features like a secure folder. I don't use facial recognition and I encrypt the SD card. I have heard the iris scanner could possibly be defeated, but the process is so tedious and time consuming I'm not concerned. Samsung is working on a fix anyhow.

The Knox hardware and software security holds up well against iOS. Don't take my word for it. Read about it here...

Sure if your talking about a cheap Android phone without proper hardware level encryption or a poorly performing processor then these ads might be true. Put the iPhone up against a true competitor like the S8 these claims fall flat on their face.

Rather than continuing to spread your lies, look at the phones I mentioned, and while you're at it, try to understand what open source means.

It's not a lie, the iPhone and iOS, they are inseparable in terms of any serious discussion of security, are light years apart in terms of security from any Android based system phones. I am sorry that your need to bash Apple doesn't allow you to admit this simple truth.

It just seems like there are many people who are not Apple fans who, for some reason, are eager to read the latest Apple rumours. It shows me that they say they don't care, but actually they do care about whatever Apple is doing. Like why post that bit about "not switching" - if you are happy with Android, would you be patrolling the Apple forums? Hope you see where I am coming from on that. Not a big deal, but just something I notice because I am definitely an Apple Fan Boy.
I'm gonna be honest. There is a ton of assumption in this quote. Specifically that an assumed negative comment regarding Apple = Android fan. Could easily be a frustrated Apple fan. Could be someone like me who likes and uses multiple OSes. Being an admitted Apple Fan Boy can easily bias your opinion of what you read. Hope you see where I am coming from on that.

Seems self-evident... Assuming you have your iPhone locked, it is much harder to gain unauthorized access to the device.
Oh, I know what you were implying. I'm confused how you reached that conclusion. You're basing this on what exactly?

Light years apart from any Android platform? Bold statement there. My S8 has Knox all over the place on it. When you first login you must enter your passcode to unlock the hardware encryption. The secure folder is an awesome feature which secures and encrypts everything inside of it including apps and files. The phone is built with tons of security features.

I am not going to argue this with you because you feel all Android phones have no security features and I doubt I will change your mind. I'm going to guess you've never used an Android phone, let alone owned one so it's pretty pointless.

Here we can see a hater in its natural habitat... be careful and move slowly. Otherwise he might attack you.

On a serious note: everything you mentioned is subjective or plain wrong (except for dual lens).

If you can't hear the difference between the 6s and 7 speakers, may I recommend something for you?!:

You confuse "hater" with "critic". Try a dictionary.

I've used 6S and 7 side by side for the last 6 months. My gauge is as objective as it gets.

Well, sorry to be the one to break it to you. No pun intended. Remember, there is a reason terrorists and people like Snowden recommend their followers use iPhones. There is a reason that law enforcement hates it when a criminal uses an iPhone and smiles when they seize an Android device.
