Funny, I went iOS to Android and find the experience much better in most respects.
Could not agree more. I feel like Saul of Tarsus; I went from disparaging Samsung to seeing the light.

That seems contradictory to me. Unless you mean that Apple treats the (comparatively limited amount of) personal data they let themselves have access to in the same way that Google does? But even that I would dispute.Apple does about the same amount of stuff with your data that Google does [...] Siri won't every won't ever work as well as Google Assistant because it can't access your personal data
I find these new ads patronizing too, not only the piano. It’s like they’re saying you’re dumb if you buy android. Apple should focus on its real strengths for example.... hmmmm can’t think of any anymoreI wish Apple would stop using that juvenile style piano music. It's equal parts pretentious and patronising.
The best reason to move to, or stay with iOS is the vastly superior privacy and security.
All of the apps I need are available on the Google Play Store, and my friend (iPhone X owner) claims that my 2.5 year old Nexus 6P takes better pictures than his phone. Apps and a "better" camera aren't enough anymore.
Apple -- give me a competitive voice assistant and the ability to change my default apps to CROSS-PLATFORM alternatives and then I'll be interested. Because, honestly, I'd like to use a phone as powerful as my Android device WITHOUT having to compromise on privacy. Throw me a bone!
Like what apps?I have an iPhone but my next phone will be Android. Some of my favorite apps have disappeared from the store on IOS so I guess I'll be following them.
There are plenty of alternatives, such as WhatsApp, etc. that work much like iMessage without all of the complications that Apple has caused with iMessage when switching phones.
Only about 5% is having iMessage over here. WhatsApp is de facto standard and making iMessage useless over here despite the stickers or Animoji.Except all of my friends and family have to have What's App. With iMessage, the communication app is built in and integrated in the experience.
Can you repeat that without blinking?Switching from Android to iOS will be the best and happiest decision you could ever make in your life. If you’re an Android user, watch these ads and then make the switch. iOS is delightful, secure, and has the best app developers creating incredible experiences for all of us.
Not naming your competitor is marketing 101. I think people can figure out who they are talking about. Why do they say “your phone”? Most people who will see these in US have iPhones.
It’s not the reason Europeans are poor and the reason they don’t buy Apple iPhone. The real reason is that the competition has caught up with Apple’s offerings and most of Apple’s service offerings are poor here.
Apple is faaaaaar better than Google/Android for privacy and security. There is no reputable source in existence that can disprove thatApple is tracking your usage FYI.
WhatsApp is a third party app. I keep seeing this suggestion, but it really misses the point. Apple iMessage is built into the default messaging service on iPhone, so people use it. There is no direct equivalent on Android. If WhatsApp was the default messaging app on Android, you would have a point, but it’s not. Instead, WhatsApp is one of many alternatives BUT the user at the other end has to have it too. On the iPhone, every user has iMessage. There are plenty of alternatives, such as WhatsApp, etc. that work much like iMessage without all of the complications that Apple has caused with iMessage when switching phones.
Name one example of an app that didn’t work. What was the app, what hardware and os did you have, and how long after purchase did you ask for a refund? Please detail the entire interaction with Apple support (what number did you call or what email address did you send your request to, etc)Funny I've lost count of the apps Ive bought in the App store that didn't work and Apple refused to refund my money, not to mention the countless times I've bought IAPs and didn't receive the item and fought with Apple for a month and also not gotten a refund.
I have been very tempted to get an android phone myself, but iMessage is the main thing keeping me on the iPhone. Android or the carriers need to find a comparable solution ASAP.
Please detail the entire interaction with Apple support (what number did you call or what email address did you send your request to, etc)
AS far we all know they sell targeted advertising not your personal info. Big difference.
Actually, Apple does about the same amount of stuff with your data that Google does, the difference is Apple denies doing it while Google admits exactly what they do with it in plain, easy to understand English. This ultimately means things like Siri won't every won't ever work as well as Google Assistant because it can't access your personal data, at least not officially.
So, no I don't think Google and Apple are equal, I think Google is ahead because you actually know right where you stand with them.
