exactly!
whoa! what a concept!
so music from any home stereo system can lift your spirits at the end of a long day. mind blown.

no reason to spend $350 for what I can already do.

Amazing insight into advertising there.

So if you can already do that, why on earth would any company that made stereo equipment want to advertise their products?

WTH are you smoking, "the lonely message" (sic)... Have you actually worked, been on the subway or bus in the evening at the end of the day. Feeling beat happens and wanting a pick me up from listening to music has nothing to do with wishing for a better life from the homepod.

The homepod just sets the atmosphere for self-reflection.
She's litterally picking herself up after a tough day while listening to great music. That's it.

Stop projecting your own delusion and deal with what's actually there.

Who the hell is "saving" for a homepod, people used to spend 3 times that to buy stereos and pairs of speakers (and stopped doing it because it never sounded as good as they hoped), good god, headphones... Man, go shovel your opinions at someone else.

Just relax already, continue rationalising your (upcoming) purchase, no need for double quoting, you continue with your delusions and interpretations and I'll continue with mein.
The mere fact on how you jumped and debated my opinion is telling.

Great advert - loved it.

And now we have an explanation for those really flaky homepod adverts that were part of the marketing package at launch - they looked like they were cobbled together in about 5 mins by an intern...... probably because they were. Seriously, how do you spend millions on a fantastic advert like this - and then not have it ready at launch?

The homepod looks like a great product to me - but it's clear that it was launched late (missing Christmas), without it's full functionality, and without even without this "headline" part of the marketing package being ready.

This is the first advertisement from Apple in many years that has truly captivated me. Bravo Apple, and Jonze
Yeah I thought just the opposite. I found it annoying and not really selling the home pod at all.

I liked it as a thing, but as others said, didn’t really compel me to get a HomePod. Or even fully understand what a HomePod is/does
this was my thinking exactly... kinda found the "commercial" annoying.

First, I was thinking, gee, where I live everyone on the misery train is listening to, playing with, or otherwise enjoying their smart phones. Where are these losers? Then I noticed that this ad for something I don't need or want is going to be 4 whole minutes long and I was done with it.

No, not quite done with it. You had to add a comment on here, so you're still talking about it.

So who said advertising doesn't work. ;)

I really don't enjoy the 'dark' look to all the Apple ads lately. At least this one tried to do a bit with some color in the AR-ish scenes. But for me, the ad really did nothing due to the music choice. Just didn't connect with me. Might be for a younger crowd.

Anyway, I love my HomePod. The funniest thing about watching this ad is that Siri on my HomePod started playing music I'd like when she said it at the start of the ad. Hilarious/scary/annoying.

What an artistic load of rubbish.

Sad people live in such crappy homes. They should save their money to buy a bigger place.

Said the guy who doesn’t own a HomePod. The HomePod is all about convenience. Add some smart globes and some lamps and that’s more convenience.
A bigger place means you need to buy more stuff to fill it up with.

Worst Apple commercial ever! Seriously, hey siri play me something I would like... really makes me want to go out and buy a home-pod for $350 bucks.
It worked on me.

7 pages of posts and I am supprised no one has mentioned what Siri started playing for them when the actress asked for Siri to “play something I like”.

I was watching the add on the laptop next to my HomePod, and Siri said ”Ok, Here is some Motörhead” was kind of funny and I did indeed like it...

HomePod is incredibly clear. But it needs a second one to really make it stereo. I hope Apple allows for a second one less money than X2

10 million? Thank you for the Fake News. lol

Opinion isn't news, I'm predicting 10M, not stating they've sold 10M...
So, you'll pulling a good ol' straw man.
And the people stating this thing isn't selling ARE the ones stating this as a fact (not even an opinion)
(like most Apple Doom "artists".).

Come back to see me at the end of the year and we'll see how right I am.

Bet you won't. Until then, peddle your FUD in front of someone else.

Telling of what, that I dislike dollar store psychologists and that threw that back in your face with the delusion bit.
And you did it again in the last sentence. Go play with yourself, not answering your "deep thoughts" again.

After watching this clip and if I was just casually watching TV without thinking it was about the HomePod, I'd probably ask at the end, "That was a commercial for what?" First thought would've been Apple Music. It's the same feeling as some of those Superbowl commercials where they tell you how great America is with football/fishermen/cowboys and ends with the Dodge Ram.

In that sense, it captivates me how many people are captivated by this ad.

Yeah, mine started playing Miles Davis. Was funny. Apple should really add a tiny sound just before the "Hey Siri" in the ad that would tell Siri to ignore it. I think Amazon did that.

Boom! That's it right there! The ad would have raised your awareness and made you think and ask... Job done!

If only they would spend as much money on engineering and software programing as they do on marketing and advertising.
