I think the Mini will get plenty of sales over the next few months as a lot of old SE users might upgrade to it etc...

I don’t think we will see a 13 Mini, but I think the 12 Mini will likely drop in price once the 13 line up is out and will likely eventually replace the SE line... it wouldn’t surprise me if the Mini will start getting updated March/April every couple of years...

The Pro is a very nice phone, compared to my old X. Verizon 5G sucks though. I've left it on LTE.

Some disagree, but I think it was a tactical error by Apple to even bother with 5G on the iPhone 12 mini.

Had they left something like that out maybe they could’ve gotten the price down a little bit, which would’ve helped sales I think.

(Could have bumped battery life also perhaps)

The 12 mini should have been the "12 mini Pro".

They AAPL would have sold a ton !

Specifically, in the chassis design of the 12 Pro & 12 Pro Max.

Doesn't need the Telephoto Back Camera, to be a success, but it does need a chassis upgrade to succeed !

The serious sales for the 12 Mini will only really take off with a price cut and probably elimination of the existing SE2.

Ideally the 12 Mini "becomes" the SE3 -- hopefully this calendar year honestly.

Makes sense. I have a cage of Mini's that have been unsold in months but Pros don't last more than 3-4 days after shipments come in.

So other 12s outselling is a reason to call the mini a failure (and discontinue it) according to some users?

By that logic they should also cut the Mac lineup to just the MBAir and 1 size of iMac (both in just 1 stock config off course ).

iPadAir for everyone

Dump the normal sized iPhone12Pro, most of the headphones all services but AppleMusic......

😝

I'm not sure where you're getting that somewhat binary take on it from.

The Mini appears to be doing "ok" from what we can tell (which isn't much on the outside).
I think it's also apparent that it isn't flying off the shelves or anything necessarily either.

Apple definitely slotted it into a higher tier than many existing/former smaller device enthusiasts may have been eager for, and compared to the SE2 they sell, it's not a particularly great value.

I really hope the 12 Mini morphs into the SE3 by this time next year-ish -- along with a more "SE-ish" price point.

By the same token, I also hope they make a 13/14 Mini Pro.

Once you get into that "getting close to a grand" price area, people really start to want as much of the Pro features, cameras, etc, as you can give them.

I wanted to buy one, the price is alright. But with the 12 Mini came iOS 14.2 and the obligatory "Headphone Notifications" volume monitoring/restrictions that ruined music playback for me, so now I'm on Android and everything Apple is on hold. Allegedly 14.4 will lessen the problems a bit, and I will test it on my SE. Even with a full rollback of the "feature" (unlikely) it would take some time to rebuild the trust, though. I think at this point I may as well wait and watch the rumor mill about an upcoming 13/12S Mini - or if the Mini disappears, maybe I will get one in October before it is gone.
