At first I was irked by the reports of iPhone 12 not coming with a power adapter. But, then I started thinking about all the times when I actually need one, and it's fairly few. So I guess I'm okay with having to buy an adapter once and be done with it.

Outside of my main docking station that sits on my night stand, I really only need the power cable, which is when I'm in my car or at my office desk (via my monitor).

Not all models are affected apparently, and I know it's a more niche and upscale market, but the Apple Watch Series 6 Hermès still ships with the power adapter.

You were ready to drop over $400 and changed your mind because a 5W power adapter that you probably already have, and if you don't, can buy for $5, isn't included? Or for some other, more rational reason?
On Apple Watch of all things that has such low power draw it charges just as fast plugged in to any USB outlet you can find.

I'm guessing we're going to (finally) see an Apple charging mat. I know the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods case all have inductive charging. Rather than including a new charger in every box, Apple will likely push the charging mat as a one time purchase that will conceivably last for future generations of their products.

I don't think the iPad has inductive charging, thus the included power adapter.

Would you expect to buy a PS5 without a power cable because "everyone has a 2pin power cable"?

Or a Laptop without a usb charger "because we have loads of them around the house"?

No the device is dependent on the charger to function, so it should come included...ESPECIALLY when that device is a high-end price compared to the rest of the market.

This is nothing but a way for Apple to bump their profits by $100m+ each year (if not more when you take into account addition usb plug sales with every device sold).

If it was about the environment they would pass the savings onto us, which they haven't, they have actually increased it lmao.
