Still not sure how to best update my saga... but my 'replacement order' from 11/27 that replaced my original order from 11/12 (Apple did it, not me) finally has some movement and has a 'departed from facility status' which is the first update since 11/20. This is the original tracking number I received back on 11/18 and the UPS app says its on track to schedule by end of day 12/08. Apple Store app still shows 'preparing to ship' and a 12/22 expected ship date.

At this point I would have just taken the long Shanghai delay. The weirdness with my order number makes me nervous on when I'll actually receive the laptop.
Equally confused here as this is exactly what’s happening with my order. I tried to get clarification this morning but the sales rep I spoke with was combatively unhelpful, unfortunately.

The Apple rep was unhelpful? I wonder if there are a lot of shipping problems out there and they are overwhelmed. My order is still stuck at a Chinese airport. Shipping date changed from this Friday, to no date...date to be determined.

Wall Street Journal reported today that, with overload due to COVID online buying in general plus Black Friday et al and holidays coming up, both Fedex and UPS are so overwhelmed that they have instructed drivers not to pick up any new packages from major retailers like Nike, LL Bean, Macy's etc. This could mean that the whole US delivery system has more than it can handle. Hopefully they will handle what is already in the pipeline.

UPS 51 is en route. No tracking update for me yet. I hope we make UPS 61 in 10 minutes, UPS 109 in 20, or UPS 99 in an hour. There are many more flights but I want us to arrive in Louisville in time for local flights late tonight/early tomorrow so we have a chance for Thursday delivery.

UPS105, UPS109, and UPS61 have all taken off. No departure scan for me yet. There's still hope for UPS99, or just a reporting lag. It could also be the case that we won't get another departure scan in Anchorage due to our early one last night. I really want to keep my eyes out for a Louisville scan but it will be late at night with all the planes arriving 1-1:15 AM EST and then some time for it to be unloaded and the pallet to be scanned in.

Unfortunately, even with UPS99 departed, I have no tracking update. Is UPS seriously going to keep it until Saturday at Anchorage for delivery on the 7th? I'm very curious about @mooshhie's tracking status as they are scheduled for delivery on 12/3 with Express Delivery. Did your package leave Anchorage yet / did you receive any updates?

Most likely won’t get an update till it lands. They already did a departure scan, and since it’s the latest scan I doubt they’d do a second.

If that hypothesis is true, our time window for an arrival scan is ~11:49PM EST (+ time for unload and processing) at the earliest (if it's on UPS51), and ~2:21 AM EST at the latest (if it's on UPS99). All other flights that have taken off fall have ETAs between those two, with most in the 1AM hour.

Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any updates or changes. UPS still claims to be delivering tomorrow before the end of day. So we will see.

I’m willing to bet we’re on one of the flights. There’s 7 heading to Louisville right now, two are 767’s while the others are 747’s, surely our laptops got on ONE of them.

I am hoping some of these laptops might replenish supplies at Apple Stores so I can just pick one up instead of waiting for my 16gb 1tb to be shipped.

I think @rbf1138 said he ordered evening of 11/18. I ordered 11am ET on 11/18. @Yeetmcstuffins ....any chance you ordered in the afternoon? Crazy how much the switch to "preparing to ship" gives an adrenaline jolt, right?
Haha, yep! Haven’t been paying attention to how long it typically takes between “preparing to ship” and “shipped.”

For me, I got preparing to ship early in the morning and "shipped" in the evening, about ~12 hours apart. It's taken longer for others, however.

Update: UPS51 just landed in Louisville. It's still taxiing, but if we get an update within the next 30 mins, our packages were on UPS51 and most likely will be delivered tomorrow!
