Same ordering details, same new massive delay in shipping with no explanation or email.

MBP 16GB/1TB, Ordered: Nov 11, Orig Delivery: Nov 27 - Dec 4, now Jan 6 - Jan 13.

I'd update the Google Sheet but it looks like someone messed with it.
I have the same configuration ordered on the 16th. I’m afraid it’s going to get delayed too.

Looks like someone just put a filter on the "model ordered" column so it only showed one entry. I reset the filter and everything should be back now. I highly encourage anyone who wants to use a filter to use "filter views" so it doesn't modify the spreadsheet for everybody.

My MBA 16/512 space gray is still showing Anchorage 12/01/2020 9:33 P.M in transit. I find it entertaining to read how some posters have actually researched the flight schedules and posted departures and arrivals of possible flights their orders are on. 10 years from now each package will have a tracker on it with a camera and you will be able to travel with the package as if you are a little bug riding on the outside of it.

I have the same order and it feels like I could have made this post too as it matches me 100%!

I don't even think a camera is neccessary. Once GPS receivers are affordable enough we should be able to track our package location in real-time on a map with a receiver on each package. That could probably happen before your 10 year timeline, and it'd probably be a paid extra at first. If the GPS trackers were reused (detached from the package after delivering and sent back/used for an outbound package) that could honestly happen pretty soon if the investment was made. I guess one of the main issues is that GPS is an active technology and requires a battery unlike an RFID tag.

RFID tags are pretty cheap now, with how they're used in clothing tags and stuff now. If the software investment was made, it's not unfeasible for RFID scanners to be stationed around the UPS facilities, in the air cargo containers, and on the plane doors/loading ramps. Once your RFID tag is scanned by a specific plane's scanner, they just give you the flight details (plane and flight number) and a live tracker in your package tracking update.

Obviously it's easier said than done and requires more work and investment than I make it seem. Just saying the technology to do so is there and affordable/mass-produced now.

Update: My package never delivered yesterday, so I reached out to Apple via chat to just see if they have any new insight on a new delivery date. They weren’t sure and stated they will reach out to UPS to see. 2 hours later, I checked UPS and now have a new scan of Louisville, KY for 12/04 at 10:28 AM - Import Scan, with a new rescheduled delivery date of 12/07.

No change here - but that's a good sign that the rest of us are there too.

#LousvilleGang: Now I really wish they did weekend deliveries, because there's a flight this afternoon to my destination city that my package could easily make, but then it's just going to sit at my local UPS facility for 56 hours until it's out on a truck on Monday. If I received it this weekend I would also have more time to set it up and play around with it.

Edit: Can I say we're in the home stretch now? Or is the "home stretch" after it arrives to our local airports?

Got an update on UPS tracking. Before, delivery date was unknown. Now, it is showing Tuesday Dec 8.

However, the tracking details still show that my package departed ANC on Dec 1 at 9:33PM.
That's a good sign. You will probably get it 12/8. You're probably gonna get a Louisville scan tomorrow if not later today.

FedEx or UPS? How long did it take to go from Shanghai to Anchorage?

Finally got it! We all have the same timestamp for departing Anchorage but different timestamps for the import scan. I guess this is where individual packages gets disassembled from the whole shipment and head to final destinations. More import scans should be on the way.

You just got it in the last few minutes? If so, that gives me hope!

This is definitely a possibility. It might even be possible that the packages in a pallet get separated before leaving Anchorage depending upon final destination.

No import scan for me yet, but that makes me hopeful it will be soon.

My base M1 Air just shipped FedEx from Lebanon, TN. Supposed to get here to my home in Dallas, on Monday the 7th. Ordered on the 22nd of November, FYI. Kinda surprised it's not coming from someplace in China. But hey, I'm not complaining. Just glad it's finally headed my direction.

I think you are the first I have seen to have a MBA shipped from the US.

To all the folks with this config and this delay... I got in touch with Apple Support and received the most information I've received to date (don't get excited, it's still nothing): all she said is there was a delay in production overseas. She also said Apple sent out an email about the delay to my order, but I still haven't received that...
