As a customer and as one of the few once here on the form that do NOT have stock, I care a lot about their profit. That profit will enable them to continue to exist and create more and more 'magical' devices. I actually don't care a bit about the market share, that doesn't buy me anything - but having a company being able to spend money on innovations will do a lot for me.

You know that there are more countries than USA, don't you? And on those countries, iPhone has been sold on many carriers.

And its not like Apple doesnt release vaporware, Infact Microsoft are getting injected with massive ammounts of money.

When it comes to dumb that's really what iOS and Android currently still are. There is no support for standard features like rSAP, S/MIME, SIP, etc. You can't even put the alarm clock on and turn the phone off overnight.

Ok I admit even when you leave your iPhone on, you still have a very good chance that the iOS alarm won't wake you. But hey it's a smart*phone* after all right?

I would be because it indicates the company is healthy and will continue to exist,producing the products I want.Think back to the 90s when Apple's demise was seemingly just around the corner for years on end.And anyway,IMO Apple's products have superior value for the money(obviously,or I wouldn't buy them).I don't begrudge someone who strives for and produces excellence a better return than someone who just churns our"good enough"junk.

ZTE is a Russian company developing (mainly) Android smartphones. But they currently only sell to the Russian market. So there is one company that sells more (Android) smartphones in one country than Apple does worldwide. Ok, I'm sure Apple doesn't care...

Apple aren't the only company who cares about the quality of their products. Many products have delayed releases to improve the quality.

My son has a cheap ZTE phone of which a mugger would be too embarrassed to steal. Last week the phone's firmware went crazy, and the support pages of ZTE is virtually useless... pay for what you get I guess.

Anyone else notice the post says Apple sold 47,500 phones last year?

That's a very disappointing number... :rolleyes:

In 2005 Apple bought Fingerworks for their multi touch/gesture patents including:

iGesture Pad – a one-hand gesture pad, with optional numpad keys. Active area: 6.25" by 5" father of the iPad?

In 2007 they changed the world but not by innovating.

ZTE are Chinese I think and they also sell into the UK (and probably other countries too).

Didn't say they were.Don't put word in my mouth.In my book vaporware is a deliberate lie for marketing purposes.To apply that term the the white iphone is incorrect.

I didn't mean to put words in your mouth - but it seemed your post implied this. :) Even microsoft will delay products to improve quality / cancel products due to insufficient quality.
