Why not? My renewal date was 9/7. Everyone is not on the same renewal schedule as you, or am I missing something?

I got the Verizon iPhone the day it was released. My upgrade date is October 7. The message was meant for anyone who is upgrading. I assume if you have a verizon iPhone your date would be around the same time as mine.

Your point? All of the iPhone pre-orders have started on Fridays.

iPhone 4 was pre-ordered the same day as the June 2010 Keynote. I ordered mine around 6 PM that evening. Received it on the eve of the launch. Check your facts, next time, before berating someone.

Ah...gottcha. Makes sense now.

One small advantage of going from dumbphone to smartphone a few days after you become eligible for the discounts. :)

That is great news...I get paid on Friday and might be able to afford the 32 GB version :)

Wow...how about a little patience. I know you are excited (I am too) but 2 days won't kill you.

2 days have killed many a man. MANY A MAN I SAY

The majority have been on Fridays though, and sorry for the mistake.

I think the online pre-order system is designed to do just that.

Misunderstanding about Pre-Orders.

I didn't and don't mean to come across as anal, but someone else said that those who think Apple will do same day pre-orders, are crazy. I responded to them and then saw your responce. It just blew me away, how quickly some of us, including myself, forget what just occurred "yesterday". So, don't take it to heart.:)

why can't we get it immediately? that's lame. they suppose to make enough inventory to deliver. it clearly shows that its contractor can't catch up supply. dumb apple. I guess that apple will continue to suffer from it. or they can easily catch up because iphone 5 won't sell much. they don't need to make more. it means that new phone will be failed. comparing to other smart phone, iphone 5 seems very primitive. two years behind 4G LTE technology. apple recently bought tons of patents which is proved. they can't create this kind of tech by themselves. apple's is lame design company not technologically innovated. what they did so far is buying, buying, buying. then they made their own based on buying tech. it's not innovation. my ass.

Hope the lines are not filled with scalpers and their dominions shipping back to thier home countries.
I think the best way is credit card-pre-orders and pick up at store. No walk-ins period.
That will stop scalping.

No offense, but I believe the correct word is "minion".

Minion [min-yuh n] - noun, a servile follower or subordinate of a person in power

I'm just saying......

That's the only problem you found in that post? ;)

Uhh....huh? :confused::confused::confused:

How would that make any sense for a retail store to have it before Apple releases it? C'mon guys, think

Is waiting an extra day really that terrible?

Maybe you should do some thinking.. I'm not implying that best buy has it before apple, I'm asking if they might take preorders tomorrow. It's not like that doesn't happen. So try again..

If its true I am actually glad. Will give me time to think and compare vs the Lumia 920 and S3.

TY apple :D

As one of the less wealthy people, I'm probably going to end up buying an 8GB White 4 at (Hopefully) $375.

Would the older models sell out? :(

Anyone know if they will let you reserve an in store pickup this year? I don't know if they did last year cause I didn't buy an iphone last year, I buy when my upgrade is up so last one I got was the 4 which they did allow for reserving for in store pickup.

Personally, I think I would opt for that cause I can't be sure I'll have the day off to wait for the FedEx person (and I don't want to agree to let them just let it sit outside my house) and when I bought the 4 it seemed that if you reserved in store you really could have come in at any time of the day and get one (I waited in line overnight that time just to be sure but I think afterwards learned that everyone got one that reserved).

Pre order it and have fed ex hold it in their location so you can pick it up when ever is more convenient for you that day.

Anybody know if Sprint will let you upgrade after a year on contract?? If not then I think I'm gonna wait it out until next year then drop sprint and get that 35$ deal on tmobile or the 45$ straight talk with my current 4S!!
Sprint better do something to keep its customers or else everybody will end up dropping them for something faster and cheaper (tmobile & straight talk)

Interesting... Shipping time moved back to 8 days.

Well I will be buying pretty much no matter what as I am moving from my 3GS (which I bought on release day here in the UK). Hopefully we don't have to wait too long for it as for some reason my charger no longer fits in the bottom quite properly!

I 'm glad that already preorder the new iPhone 5

I've just ordered my new iPhone 5 this morning from Phonezilla ltd.
The company is one of the first that offers in USA iPhone 5 . Shipping is free to my place (Philadelphia) and the price is -25% for early preorders. This offer is without mobile plans, because I already have to another mobile supplier. I think this is good deal and really happy to share this news.

Greetings to all iPhone 5 fans from Jane :):apple::apple::apple:

That's exactly what Apple did with the iPhone 4, two years ago. I ordered mine that afternoon, around 6 PM, and received it on the eve of the actual launch day. I have no idea why Apple didn't allow same day pre-order for the 4S, but there's nothing unusual about Apple allowing the pre-order to occur after the Keynote. Whether it be immediately, or it be, after a few hours. Either way, it's very possible for Apple to open the option tomorrow.

This isn't me debating what you posted. This is me letting you know that Apple has allowed the iPhone to be pre-ordered, the day of the Keynote Introduction.

Pretty sure you should check your facts again on this one. I am about 95% sure I didn't preorder my iPhone 4 on the date of the keynote, and 100% sure I preordered day 1 and got it a day early.

Wikipedia seems to confirm this as well.

Ok - who is excited?

http://micgadget.com/29723/the-unde...-new-iphone-5-is-made-inside-foxconn-factory/

Apparently after publishing this report -the best thing this website can offer its readers is "we still feel that all Apple fanboys should appreciate the hard work from the Chinese workers, as they have worked overtime which is certainly underpaid, just to rush out the iPhone 5 hoping to meet the scheduled of the launching date. Now we are getting even more excited after roughly knowing the factory’s production workflow of the latest iPhone 5. So what is Apple going to show us after 20 hours time ? "

Seriously?

I stand corrected. I thought that the intro date was off a bit in my remembrance. It wasn't available for pre-order until the 15th. I asked my son if I was able to pre-order it and he confirmed I was. I asked him the date and we looked at wikipedia. The problem is, I didn't looked down the page, far enough. You are absolutely correct. My facts were only half checked. I'm man enough to admit that, and I apologize. Thank you for the actual fact check.:D
