Truly wireless or just proprietary wireless?

Plus it's also charging in my car - CarPlay only works using the cable so what's the point of wireless charging there?
Their wireless supports Qi."We believe the future is wireless" sigh.

No existing solution does what AirPower does. It's crazy that Apple is having such a hard time with the Airpower, while 3rd parties have had their charging pads out for a while now. I wonder what the hold-up is at the Mothership.
Our job listings still mention Windows 7 and we haven't deployed that in a year - we're a business of 10,000 people, soit's not just "Pam in HR"
Suffice it to say, HR doesn't always update the descriptions as needed.
I bet the AirPod case they designed is not compatible with regular old Qi charging. They either need to release AirPower or a new, Qi compatible case.Yes, you're right. They should give up and just release a Qi case for the AirPods.
Wireless CarPlay is a thing, just not very big yet...
Ok.. i would sat thats overcomplicating things that 95% of users will never appreciate. Its Nice and all but compared to the IKEA one is it worth all the issues. And likely Big Price difference. I dont know. But ok they want to do something different, which is of course good. And in the end enhancing the technologyUp to 3 afaik, but the distinction - placing the device anywhere - is different from the 3 zoned pads (like Ikea's) that have existed for a couple of years. With 3 zones, there's no signal crossing. Apple is trying to create one big zone, and that's where they're reportedly having issues.
I would expect cars to have wireless charging solutions in addition to wireless CarPlay.I'm aware of it but really I see no point - it will probably be slower. Plus since I'm already sitting in traffic, I'd rather have my phone charging than depleting the battery.
Finally, if there's a cable and the phone is not mandatorily sitting on a charging pad in the car, I can text... whoops, I can put it in the cupholder.
Considering they don't know what AirPower is, it's surprising how many of them feel the need to complain about it.In this thread: Multiple people who don't realise how AirPower is different to what everyone else has and how much of a technical marvel it would be if they manage to complete it
Who’s excited about a $200 charging pad from Apple when I can get versions available now for $60?
