iPad 4 - yawn; retina iMac - yawn
Just continued updates across the product lines…
iPad Mini - why?
Why not? It'll probably sell well, Apple executives seemed to like it, and many are receptive to small tablets.
Apple TV - vaporware with advertising
Vaporware is defined as something announced, but not delivered. The new Apple TV has not yet been announced. And were you hoping for free TV with no advertisements?
continued dumbing down of the productline and OS to get more bottomfeeding switchers to get an iDevice
If you had a segment of your business that earned you about 75% or your revenue, would you not focus most of you attention on it? (And don't think Apple doesn't care about the pro market. See this and this.)

I can't believe that I sold my stock when it was at $248. I only had one share and it's not like it affected me that much, but DAMNIT!!!!

LOL  Apple's market cap is at $596 Billion. Google's is $220 Billion.

Am looking forward to your comments if Apple does (another) stock split :D

Even if Apple splits it's market cap will still be 596 billion. Splits are merely perception, the don't actually influence the value of the company.

I still want Gilbert Amelio back. I miss Apple's Printers and the Newton MessagePad! Long live LaserWriters and Indiglo!

I love when Apple's stock is high. I don't know why... I don't own any Apple stock. But it still makes me really happy.

Damn!

Anyone who has had :apple: stock for like 5 years or more is making an insane amount of money off of it. Assuming they have a decent amount of stocks.

I sold my stock at $13 in 1997, after it had comeback from a low of almost $6. I told myself (Apple was going under), if it ever came back to $13, I was selling all my stock.

Now we own 10 shares that we bought about 2 years ago around $376. So far the performance has been impressive.

 LOL you and I know that, but the original poster of the google stock price comparison would get confused further, given his original comment. That's all that was, more teasing/sarcasm.

This is the reason I hate fanboys so much. Buy the best product on the market. Stop looking at the brand or how much money the company who made the product is making.
It's the same crap on the Systems Wars section on GameSpot.com. You have a hoard of xbox and PS fanboys who don't own either MSFT or SONY's stock, yet cheer for one of the company's financial downfall or the other's financial solvency. It's absolutely ridiculous.
I thought you buy gaming consoles to play games, not sales.

So, what are you doing differently from said Fanboys?

Looking forward to my dividend check. I thought I set it up to direct deposit, but looks like I'm going to be getting a check instead. That could change in the next few days though. Might end up buying a ipad mini with it.

Anyone else with apple stock able to track their divined check?

Hey I just want Apple to do well because I have a lot of money invested in the ecosystem, and would rather they don't turn into the next RIM! It would be very inconvenient to have to change ecosystems.

A friend of mine is holding onto her blackberry til the end, refusing an iOS/Android switch. IF Apple were to ever be in a similar situation, I'm so invested that I'd sadly probably be the same way.

(Though I own both stock and Apple products)

And yet, according to the trolls and glass-half-empty crowd that infest MacRumors (more than any other Apple centric site in the world), Apple will be stampeded out of business any day now by (insert latest Apple killer product). Lately its been Windows 8 which will obliterate OS X and iOS overnight when it comes out. Before that it was Android that would put the final nail in Apple's coffin. MacRumors has become a vile cesspool of Apple hatred and predictions of doom.

I plan on selling my shares before the end of the year as the Bush tax cuts are going to expire on capital gains. You get taxed at 15% of gains now and that will go up considerably after December 31, 2012.

However I'm just going to rebuy in :)

Not sure if this was already pointed out but $644 is the all time high hit earlier this year...not today sorry to say but perhaps next week?

My bad. I missed the sarcasm.

For what it's worth, for folks wondering when they should sell, I'll offer my tale. I inherited Apple stock from my grandfather (thanks!) at a split adjusted $6.02 in 1996. I dutifully haven't thought about it through all of college or much since then, with two exceptions. I sold a quarter of the shares at $370 when Apple started to represent a frightening percentage of my portfolio (>25%). I sold another quarter of the shares this year at $500 for much the same reason. I'll probably forget about the final half of the shares for a few years. If Apple starts to slide I'd sell again at $500 and call it a wild success. I'd caution anyone who wanted to by any stock if they weren't willing to hold it for at least 5 years. Any less of a time horizon is just wild speculation.

The AAPL dividends were automatically deposited to my brokerage account. They were there this morning when I logged in.

Agreed.

The seasons don't tell us when they are coming either, but they always do, just like clock work, and every wild animals prepares accordingly without even reading the Internets.

Wait, so we don't know when it's coming, but I could set my watch to it? Derp?
