Just a heads up, decimated means ~10% is destroyed, or "taken as a tenth". Root decimus, meaning 10th.
As for everything else, I agree. Feeling thankful that the wife and I fully own our home and land, and have no debt. Most don't fare as well.
That's certainly a creative interpretation of the mess that one individual decided we should all be in.
Let me clarify the some things on Trump tariffs. I am not his supporter:
1. Number one reason for these tariffs is budget deficit, rather than trade deficit. Tariffs are taxes on imported goods so they are paid by US consumers but the US government gets tariff revenue.
2, tariffs may not increase US prices that much because of the theory of large world economy. Inflation will be up but less than expected
3, Trump’s treasury wants oil prices down and the budget deficit go down. Actually he is closing to both goals
4, US exports will also decrease

We haven't fought a war since WWII, we've had police actions. The gulf 'war', desert storm, Iraq, Grenada, Vietnam, Korean 'war' were all police actions.
Hard to believe a television star with a history of bankruptcies, who very nearly failed economics at UPenn has no idea what he's doing.
Now now, they are all not married to their cousin and live in the hills. Many live in tasteless big houses in Arizona and Texas and have huge SUVs. Of course that could mean they are in big debt and the nest egg is shrinking.

Consumer prices can only go up so high before consumers will stop buying or switch to something else.
Countries are now negotiating for a mutual end to the tariffs so who actually thinks that in a couple of months the tariffs will still be there.
I wonder how low Apple stock goes before investors jump in and buy it back to its previous level. Somebody is going to make a lot of money

The world will learn do without the US, and supply chain and trade will just route around and avoid the US altogether. We're not as essential as the president thinks we are.
That is ABSOLUTELY false.
What they did was place a tariff on a country equal to half of the trade decifit they run with us. Here's a pathetic example of how stupid it all is. A trade deficit, despite what Trump believes, is not a tax or a tariff. It is just a the difference between what we export and import from a country.
Lesotho is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It was hit a 50% tariff yesterday. Our trade deficit with them is about $237 million dollars. We buy high value items- gold, diamonds, etc from them. They export mostly textiles to the United States. Why don't the roughly 2.25 million citizens of Lesotho buy more from us? Well, there isn't much we make that they need and the average income there for a textile worker is about $100 a month. Yes, A MONTH.
So now the price of those exports they have to the US will go up by 50%. What will happen to their textile industry? Experts say it will probably die as we were their biggest customer. The main customers for that industry here in the US- Levis and Calvin Klein. The textile industry there is 90% of their manufacturing. Trump's insanity will kill that small, already poverty stricken nation.
How can anyone think that a country with just 2.25 million people, who make less $1000 a year on average, could possibly spend over 10% of all they earn on American made products so there is no trade deficit. It is beyond all sane and rational thought.
It doesn't matter of they're reversed. Politics and business are about relationships. Trump has shattered the reputation of America on the worldwide stage. Even if tariffs are eventually reversed, irreversible economic damage will be done, and no one will trust America like they did before.
There are no sane people left, they’re long gone.

Don’t forget other countries also are hit by tariffs. Meaning that even after tariffs Lesotho will sell to US cause everyone else also got more expensive
