May the odds be forever in your favor!

It was bound to happen, but does seem on the sooner side than other major iOS version updates

They really wanna accelerate those adoption rates. This is one way to accomplish that.

I think someone should start a class action for permanently removing the ability to run legacy apps.

It's PS3/OtherOS all over again.
I joined that class action settlement for a friend of mine. Waste of time.

What does this mean for devices that can't upgrade to iOS 11, can they not upgrade to 10.3.3?
Only via OTA upgrade

This is good news. iOS 11 is the best and more secure version ever released, and nobody should think of going back. Disabiling the ability for downgrades is a smart move by Apple, as it will protect users from the many vulnerabilities in older versions of iOS.

Let’s not forget that the average person has no idea how to downgrade to a previous version of iOS, or that it’s even possible to do so. They just upgrade when prompted to do so and if it slows down their phone, they live with it and bitch to their friends and family about it. While this story is a big deal around here, the average iPhone user couldn’t care less.

The 1 is finally showing on my settings app now, so it looks like apple is trying to tell the masses about the update now.

No thanks Apple.

“Downgrading No Longer Possible”

Wrong. For the last few years every iOS version has felt like a downgrade. Then we have point updates until it is ‘perfected’ and then weeks later the latest iOS version is released and the whole process starts all over again.

Switch to Android. They seem to have the process nailed down to a perfect science.

Well, that's how it works with iPhone 4s and older phones, for example, so I don't really see why it would be any different in this case.

You should try recovery mode to see if that works for you.

If you're talking about plugging the phone in, holding down the button combination for ten seconds, etc, that was what I just tried to do. Aside from that, I've tried to reset the settings, and all the other applicable choices in the reset sub menu.

I also tried logging out of iCloud, turning off iMessage, restarting, then logging back into iCloud. It decided to tun on all the tracking stuff and uploaded my photos to iCloud. I hate that. I don't want Apple or anyone else having access to my work.

If I weren't using my phone for app development I would never have upgraded to iOS 11.

why so fast, i did downgraded but still black screen, so far i wonder if it display parts damaged on logic board or just screen issue, since I don't have phone dropped or liquor damaged, also no third party touched.

just read one lady has been charged $448 for same issue after upgrade and so far I don't have any responses from Apple

Apple is insecure and heavy-handed. They seem threatened and offended that some people think their new software is crap and would rather go back (myself included).

iOS 11 adoption rates have been slower than 10 and judging by this behaviour 12 will be even slower still.
