Apple Store Back Online, New iMacs, Mac Notebooks, and iPads Available for Purchase

I think the iMac Pro will replace the Mac Pro. So when you think about it, it's not a bad price since you get a 5k monitor with the Pro machine built in one.

What happens when you have to replace your iMac Pro in the future? Will you have to dispose of the 5k monitor as well, as you will have to buy another iMac Pro with another 5k monitor included?

So they ditch the 9.7" iPad, add .8" of screen real estate and raise the starting price to $650? Awesome...I was looking forward to a price dropped 9.7" iPad Pro, now I'm guessing Apple and other retailers are just going to stay at the $600 price point.

And so Apple killed the whole Mac Pro line with one fell swoop, and replaced it with a souped iMac.

They killed it, threw away its soul, and turned its body into a jukebox.

Damn you.

And what an expensive jukebox! Does it work only with Apple Music? Is anybody really going to buy this thing? For this price?

Question for the experts... I had a mid 2010 iMac (2.8 i7, 16gb Ram, 1TB HDD)-sorry can't remember the graphics but would the new base 3.4 i5 iMac 27 machines be a major step up in processing power. Would this i5 be a major step up from my 6 year old i7.

assume graphics would be a major leap?

Guys let's announce a new speaker that everyone will want! We'll ship it in 6 months after people have iPhone 8 in their hands!??

I don't care what anyone says HomePod looks sweet and with the announcement today they should be shipping it this summer.. First world problems.

Fake news. A new MacPro will be coming. Likely next year.

"imac pro".. another fail product. There is no true "pro" implementation with compact design, needs to be upgradable! Pros need to upgrade / change everything. Haven't you learned your lesson with the failure called mac pro 2013? It's not all about style, I'm still using two 9-year-old mac pros, with Nvidias just for their CUDA, which your "future" Imac pro won't support..

Then there is always the Dell Precision 5720 iMac killer. Upgradable everything. The back comes right off. Stellar design and power.

Just came back from returning at Best Buy my newly purchased (last week) iPad Pro 9.7. Just waiting for Best Buy to have the 10.5 in stock to place my order. I get with Best Buy 12 months, no interest to pay for this toy :)

Did they happen to say when they will be available from BB? Like you, I like to play with THEIR MONEY for 12 months!

The iMac Pro is NOT replacing the Mac Pro. It has already been mentioned by Apple that they are redesigning the Mac Pro, but it will take up to 2 years to do. So, unless they change there mind, there will be a new Mac Pro late 2018 or early 2019.

Hint: Clearance at BestBuy

Count me in for new 10.5" ipad pro.

Wish Mac Mini was updated, but that will come later as to not cannibalize higher profit margin iMac sales.
This is what I don't understand. How can the iMac have a higher profit margin than the Mini? The iMac has more in it (camera, etc). The Mini is and always has been grossly overpriced and it has to be incredibly easy to manufacture

Are the new iMac 5K's RAM soldered?

Someone?

EDIT: No, it's like before, we can get in and put our own 4 SO-DIMM DDR4 2400Mhz memory modules!

It's a fusion drive, something Linux and Windows can't even do, with 32GB of Apple SSD managed by the OS, so it gets the system and App files, and not pictures of your dog.

The Surface Studio costs $3000+ (twice as much as the base 27") and also comes with a HDD, no one bats an eye. Oh, and you can't even upgrade RAM in a $3K desktop that shows you ads in the start menu!

Why not talk about the SSD's? Nobody also bats an eye how the iMac, MacBook and MacBook Pro completely obliterates every other PC on the market, by several times fold, even by machines that cost 2x it's price!
That's because the Macbook Pro is overpriced and underpowered.

I'm all about the new iPads. In respect to the Mac, finally they are taking specs seriously again!

For the most part yes. But why oh why does the iMac still come with a 5400rpm HDD standard?? That's so 10 years ago. By now it should be SSD across the board. A traditional hard drive is fine for backups but is far too slow to be inside the computer.
