So to sum up:
  • iMac upgrades look nice.
  • Mini gets no love
  • No real Pro (sorry, a non-upgradable, non-repairable, thermally risky all-in-one isn't going to cut it...and can't rack mount it)
  • iPad Pro decent incremental upgrade if you're still using an original air or earlier...though USB 3 by itself might be worth an upgrade, so when Apple Support tells you to rebuild from scratch as the first troubleshooting step it doesn't take 8 hours
  • iOS 11 mostly about the iPad
  • MacOS High Sierra about plumbing (hopefully bug fixes)
  • I hope to heck that Siri got a brain upgrade and not just a facelift
  • Monographic sound...where's my RCA Victrola. Wonder if it'll only work with streaming content or play local stuff too

On your last point I think you can get stereo sound out of the HomePod if you want to folk over $700 for two of them.

As addressed in the keynote, the iMac Pro uses modular design which means some inner parts ARE inner-changeable

May finally be time to ditch my iPad air and go for a new 10.5 pro.
No new desktops I am interested in.
iOS and MacOS updates look interesting.
While this WWDC was much better IMHO than last years, after 2.5 hours of Keynote the above is about all that caught my eye.

And so Apple killed the whole Mac Pro line with one fell swoop, and replaced it with a souped iMac.

They killed it, threw away its soul, and turned its body into a jukebox.

Damn you.
More like burned it up...unless you run one of those things in an air conditioned office, it's toast. so much for using field-deployable Macs to run things like shows and rides.

Nice upgrades across the board today. However, I was hoping Apple would have announced a new iPad mini Pro alongside the other iPad Pro updates today. I still think they may quietly announce one in the fall.

Actually like the new ipads...but wouldn't be buying them. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Probably how a lot of people with 2 to 3-year-old iPads feel at the moment. I think it makes sense to wait until next year when the iPad Pro adopts the new iPhone design, a little smaller/lighter with the same 10.5" display, possibly OLED.

Hmmm, I missed that...

User changeable? Or Apple-can-swap for more apple-overpriced-upgrades?

Where the heck is the smart case?
Saw that, and wondered the same thing. These don't bounce. Aesthetics over practicality again.

Prices have gotten (even more) ridiculous in Sweden. The base MacBook/MacBook Pro 128 starts at an equivalent of $1790! Crazy!

Won't be true stereo, unless you can send one channel to each speaker. But I'm an outlier - I like uncompressed music (even 320kbps is noticeable). We're a long long way from Steve's love of high-sound.

On the MBP's, I still don't have a compelling reason to upgrade my 2013's....and that's pretty sad. Meh performance bump , worse battery life, gimmick touchbar, and a bleh keyboard. Hopefully we'll get something good this fall or next spring with Cannonlake and another redesign.

Proudly writing this from a dual-core Power Mac G5.

12 years in, and it's still steadily moving along at a great pace. Like the Disney Monorail System.

You can't say the same for a 2006 iMac, or a 2007 MacBook Pro, *or* a 2008 mini (probably), among some others.

It'll be interesting to see how they implement it. I know on the Bose SoundTouch 10 which is a mono speaker it does discreet stereo channels if you pair both of them. I believe Sonos works the same way.

I don't think Apple is concerned with stereo sound because if they were they would sell an accessory speaker that looked the same without the 'brain" in it.

i need to know what iOS 11 features will not work on iPad Air 2. I am tempted to get one of the 10.5 inch but the keyboard and pen are so expensive on top of it ... i am not gonna spent 179 € on a keyboard.

The features all better work! LoL...I kept my iPad Air 2 because I figured with the 2GB of RAM and it being comparable to the New iPad 9.7'' for CPU it should be good for iOS 11 and maybe even 12. I was tempted for a Pro but unless you're going to draw I don't know what the point is. I'm using a $6 Logitech tablet keyboard that was clearanced out at Best Buy with my Air 2 and it works great. Although mouse support would get me to upgrade to any of the new iPads.

No USB-C in the iPad Pro's? I thought they mentioned that after talking about the 10.5" and showed some adapters...

I was mainly waiting for the new MacOS and MBP, HUGE disappointment concerning both..

How much for the iMac Pro in UK currency please? I did a currency conversion but it still might be more due to exchange rate. I’ve got my eyes on this beast!

Prices actually came down in Canada for the base 13" 'Pro' from CAD $1900 to $1730.

Still way too much in my opinion considering what else can be had for that kind of money.

You know, I was going to buy one until I saw that 128GB drive. Couldn't just give it a little spec bump and drop the price? Had to f*** us over just a little to go along with it. Pathetic.

Be patient. If you are in the U.S you will see plenty of 200$ off sales of the 256GB base models. July 4th is a highly likely occasion.
