For people who had this happen to them, did you guys have the "Ready For Pickup" status when you went in?

Yep that's what I wanted to know? A friend has an appt for later today, and when I checked he said he got the Ready for pickup notice, actually it was a reminder of his appointment. oh boy!

I was told the same thing; they did not have my black 7+ 128GB. I b!tched. I was polite about it, and make sure they knew it wasn't personal, but as representatives of Apple, I was going to make sure they knew how upset I was. After a few phone calls by the Manager, they suddenly told me they had just received a new shipment and would check it for my phone. 20 min. later I had my new phone. They offered me a free case, which I accepted, thanked them for bearing with me until the situation was resolved, and I left happy.

IUP member. Was initially shut out in ordering but was emailed to check again to reserve at my local store. I was able to reserve 7 Plus 128 Matte Black for 8am pick-up. I arrived at the store at 7:45 and was told my phone was not there and it showed in system as "in transit". I said what does that mean. In transit could mean it's still in China. They told me I could wait a while to see if it arrived. At 8:10 the manager walked over to me and said good news, your phone is here. Seemed a little odd but whatever. While I was taking care of the IUP business, the same manager noticed I was also purchasing the new leather case. He told the employee handling my transaction, the case is on us for the trouble. See you next year Apple.

Same here I complained politely to Apple Rep asked for Store GM and complained politely. Actually Regional South Florida Rep was with him. And on behalf of Apple they Gifted me a $100 Gift card. Not saying that's Apple company policy I think they were just being nice and super generous. Again I was polite and just hit the with logical examples. They know Apple is controlling supply my bed if there's an investigate journalist out there find out how many Flights Air freight left Szhensuan China for the 6s vs how many Air Freight Flieights left for the 7 launch my guess is 1/3 fewer Air Freight flights were booked.

I just got a notification that it's ready for pickup. Did anyone who left the store without one have a "ready for pickup" email?
Are you an IUP member? Just trying to figure out if people who are getting these emails apply to all in store pickups or only those who are paying in full/not IUP

This launch is similar to the iPhone 3G launch. A complete fail. If you guys remember, the iPhone 3G was the first phone you could upgrade for a 2 year contract at the Apple Store. First phone that was subsidized as well.

Same issue as others. 8 a.m. reservation (IUP upgrade) at the Reston Town Center (VA) store for a 128gb 7+/matte black/T-Mobile. They looked for almost an hour and finally took my information and told me they would call once they've found a phone. I don't expect them to be able to find one. I guess it's up to us now to check in each morning at 8 to check stock?

After sitting on hold for almost an entire day to get ahold of the IUP specialists and now this, I am not happy.

The UPS guy delivered a bunch of boxes to my store at about 7:30am while we were waiting in line for the store to open. I'm sure some of those were for people with morning reservations. If he had been late, those folks wouldn't have the phones they reserved available, but it wouldn't have been Apple's fault.

I had the same thing happen to me at the Penatgon City store in VA. Reserved a 256GB 7plus in matte black for 8 am. Got there only to be told they didn't have it. I was given $100 gift card as compensation. But this is ********. Don't give me a "reservation" if you don't have the stock.
I'm headed there at 5 and now I'm nervous.

This happened to me and they had me wait around for like 20 minutes and then a shipment showed up with my phone in it.

I have a "ready for pickup" notification and will head to the store later. The taxes on the phone are paid through AT&T Next. I shouldn't have an issue but if I do, they are going to hear about it.

Had an issue with IUP. When trying to activate the new phone on AT&T, the AT&T account lookup barfed and none accounts were able for lookup.

Manager told me purchase it out and come later and switch same phones to IUP within 2-3 days once the crowd lessens and systems become stable.

Anyone experience this?

Had the same thing happen to me this morning at my 8AM reservation. Was told to come back at 12-1PM and it should be there. Kind of pissed about it, I don't really care about having to wait until later in the day, but annoyed I went in and had my time wasted. I asked if I would be able to get a free case or free dock and was told no, and offered a discount on a case.... Bummer to have that when some on here were getting $100 gift cards. Will be pushing for that when I go back today.

I just got off the phone, called in to check. My phone is at the store, will be picking it up this evening.

If Apple is handing out early morning reservation appointments for phones that UPS is scheduled to deliver that morning, then I'd say Apple is at fault. It's common sense that UPS deliveries don't always happen on time, so pickup times should be scheduled with possible delays taken into account.

Same in San Luis Obispo, CA, 8am pickup, phone not there.

Managers are trying to figure it out.

I am a victim of this. Walnut Creek, CA. They offered me a free leather case and will call me when my phone comes in, later today supposedly. Bummer.
