I gave up, reluctantly, on the Apple site after an hour and a quarter, and went over to AT&T's site. I was able to upgrade both my and my wife's iPhones to the iP4 smoothly and in minutes, first try. Now I can get some sleep...if I don't lie awake wondering if AT&T will deliver on time....

For those of you who can't get ATT's site to show you anything but the 3GS go to a different browser. I don't know why but mine wasn't updating and it worked when I switched from Firefox to Safari.
I've upgraded and ordered both me and my wife's phone now twice through ATT. The order goes through fine and then I get an email telling me it's cancelled.
"Thank you for choosing AT&T.
Unfortunately, we were either unable to verify the information you provided or you have exceeded the number of lines of service that we allow customers to purchase online. As a result, your order has been canceled. "

Yup. If you want to have it shipped, and you choose "Add to cart," seems like you get the OOPS! message every time.
They really don't want to ship this sucker. I guess that "free shipping" would kill them.

I assume they've changed the name of the 'unlimited text' plan from "iPhone unlimited text" to now just "unlimited text" - so you have to select that as it comes with a default of 'n/a' ??
SUCCESS! I chose to have it delivered to the 5th Avenue Store in Manhattan and pick it up there. They honored my unlimited data and unlimited text grandfathered in prices, and the total price at the end was $299. Wow!
They open at 7am. I'll probably get in line at 6:00 and pray it takes only 3 hours, since I have to be at work at 9.

I'm just wondering if anyone here can tell me whether or not they've successfully ordered more than ONE iPhone 4 per name/ssn/credit card? I remember reading everywhere that AT&T would prohibit 2+ iPhones being purchased per person... They released a statement saying it would be ONE iPhone 4 per person and if anyone wanted 2+ phones it required two SSN's. Can anyone tell me what the deal is with this?

So this is kind of crazy. I ordered 3 times on ATT and each time within a few minutes I got a cancellation letter. I checked my back account and I was charged the 700 plus for the two phones. I log into my ATT account and look for recent orders. And low and behold there is an order for two phones but the order number doesn't match any of my orders I had placed earlier. Maybe they're going back and fixing them as they happen. I hope so. We'll see what it looks like when I wake up in the morning. lol

I am a business user and administrator. Ofcourse Apple has left the business world out again on their site for orders. You have to order via AT&T. And do you think AT&T was ready on the business side? NO!!!
They have the phone listed for pre-order but when you click it it takes you to a page for every other smart phone other then IOS 4. In fact there is not even one apple phone listed so you can only order the blackberry and every other smartphone device. To bad AT&T once again has dropped the ball. Every single time there is a new release they Fup the business side of things. Amazing.

Got up and started on my iphone but it was running slow. By the time I booted the laptop, Apple store was down. Went downstairs onto my desktop and logged into ATT, went through whole process for both wife and my phones, enter CC info, clicked checkout...
nothing. error timeout. now ATT is down for maintenance too!!

Att has started and stopped working for me a few times. if you go from the ATT.com page it lets you select the lines you want then it locks up.
