Apple Store Down Ahead of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Pre-Orders

How are others preordering through the App??? It just stops on Currently Unavailable????
 
I guess Apple moved their streaming guys to take care of the expected load hit on the App Store today.
 
through the app on my iPad I got one (same message as person above, got a number so I'll get an email it said. I could not get gold - it would not process at all. But silver and gray showed up as delivering on the 19th. We'll see.
 
Eh? Can't buy unlocked phones? Everything still down in the UK.

I was going to queue up anyway, just thought I'd try and reserve it and see what happens.

no but I got an error saying it couldn't reach my carrie and not to worry that my phone was reserved. They said I would see an email and would have 24 hours to respond to it or lose my phone. I am a bit worried I may not see that email with all the problems going on tonight and the fact that I can't call att as they are closed. You would have thought they would have stayed the callcenter tonight to seal with any issues with the preorders this is a complete fail.

Apparently all 6+'s are saying 10/2 - 10/20 and 6's are showing as 9/19

You saw that on the website link they sent in the confirmation email? The one where you put your order number and zip code in?

You do realize that Apple never said a time (as the carriers did), and that the vast, vast, overwhelming majority of people who will ever buy an iPhone 6 even know anything about ridiculous things like streaming issues or whether the Apple Store opens at 12:01AM PT?

Get a grip — given the tone of your comment and the feeling that Apple needs to "sack" their web team because the store wasn't available at midnight like you wanted, I can say with relative certainty that I have probably been using Apple products for longer than you have been alive, and I'm not worried.
 
I'd like to think this would lose Apple a few sales, then I remembered we're the ones who have been refreshing a website 100 times at 3:30 AM ET.
 
Finally.

Finally got through on the Apple Store App... the ipad app was screwed up, but i got through on my phone... with MANY error messages. But i have that confirmation email!!!

I got two order confirmation web pages using AT&T website that I took pictures of. I was able to "double order" another phone on my line with Apple Store App, but now that shows all models unavailable when I try my wife's line.

Hopefully the AT&T orders are good and I'll cancel the Apple order.
