model of fon you get is dependent on market you buy it

Nope!

Both iPhone 6 models are full world phones, just like the 5S, 5C, and 5 before them.

actually, all the models of the new 6 can be called world phones.

and, by the way, you don't get to decide which model you get other than telling them which carrier you plan to use it on: and that is mainly for the gsm vs. cdma versioning.

the true world model of them all is the pair: Model A1586 and Model A1524
1586 is for the 6 and 1524 is for the 6+.
these are truly world fons since you can get 3G+ speeds in China on their China only network. these 2 models also have both GSM and CDMA inside them so you can roam on Korea's fast CDMA carriers as well.

but again: you don't get to choose. each market is allocated the fon it will sell as its SIM free model.
so if you want to chose a model then you need to order it from the apple store in the country where they are selling that model.

Japan, Hong Kong are both selling the Model A1586 / A1524 models.

My finger is ready!! :D:D:cool:

Same here. I'm even more happy to go case-less with all my iOS devices now we have the option of AppleCare+ to protect against accidental damage.

Nice! I guess I've been really lucky. My 5 tumbled out of my car and went end over end onto asphalt but managed to only get a few nicks. Other than that I've never.... I'll shut up now haha

Haha. Yeah I'd say just pre order. I waited in line once years ago and it sucks. I'm preordering tonight and picking up on Sunday the 21st. Hopefully they'll have me and my wife's phones!

Thanks! I'll probably just preorder and see what happens

:apple:.com is up and running :D

It wasn't down. The part that doesn't work is when you go to "how to buy" the iPhone 6. Maybe other store pages too, but I don't care about other store pages and neither should anyone else

I'm out. Considering an iphone 6+ 64 GB is a ridiculous $849 off contract compared to the recent G3 price cut to $480. No brainer.

Also did a size test on phone arena, jesus the iphone 6+ is way too big.

WHY APPLE, all I wanted was Optical image stabilization and a Sapphire Screen. Why must you have neither on the smaller phone.

But I will be refreshing in a bit since my GF wants a 6. Gold of course. May the odds be in your favor.

One important caveat: While the T-Mobile iPhone 6 does not require a contract, it doesn’t come unlocked either.

“The T-Mobile iPhone is contract-free and can be used with the GSM carrier of your choice internationally, but comes preconfigured for use with T-Mobile and needs to be activated with T-Mobile in the United States,” an Apple retail support representative wrote. “To use the iPhone with another carrier in the United States, you will want to contact T-Mobile for your available options or wait for the unlocked version of the iPhone to be released.”

So if you are coming back to the US to visit and live abroad essentially it is unlocked? Nice to know.

Im still slightly upset about the 1gb of memory, as well as the features that the + has over the 6.

Ok thanks. So Apple isn't offering the unlocked versions yet? Any guess on when they will offer the unlocked and or Virgin mobile models?

Well I'm excited.

Getting a 6 plus for me and a 6 for my wife. Fortunately I'm large in stature and the fit seems perfect for the 6 plus

Haha! I have no idea which one to get either! And is 128MB worth another $100?
think of it this way, you only have to live with your decision for 1 year because next year something better will be out and you'll have to do it all over.
And to answer your other question... if you need it. Look up questions like "is 2 gigs of ram enough or should i get 4gb" and replace the word ram with "Memory" hah
