Apple Store Down Ahead of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Pre-Orders

I preordered the 5, was there when they opened it at midnight (3 AM by me). Had a problem and had to wait until morning to complete my order. By then they pushed back my shipping date from whatever the release date was to "two to three weeks". So, you will be able to preorder it to guarantee a purchase, but it may be for a few weeks out depending on when you actually get around to ordering.

Okay thanks so much for the info. I expect I'll have to wait a few weeks unfortunately. Thing is, I am buying off contract and I have the Target Red Card which gives you 5% off and I have a Pharmacy Rewards coupon for 5% off and I've confirmed that I can combine them and use them toward the price of a preorder. So I feel like I gotta do that. But Target only is doing preorders in stores. So I will be be there when they open at 8am and hope for a quick and smooth process so I can be to work at 8:30!! So I'm trading off 10% for a few weeks probably. Other option is I could go to target on launch day to use those discounts but launch day is too stressful and you're guaranteed of nothing.

NO UNLOCKED iPHONE 6 AVAILABLE AT LAUNCH

Question, perhaps a dumb one. Will an unlocked iPhone 6 work on the Virgin network? Doesn't it have both GSM and CDMA inside?

If not, then I have to decide whether to wait a few months for Virgin to get it, or I could go with T Mobile no contract

or I could get sucked into a 2 yr contract with Sprint

or I could get an Android phone... Wait, scratch that last one

I just got off the phone with apple, the Tmobile "Contract Free" iphone 6 and 6 plus is NOT Unlocked, its simply a GSM iphone being sold at FULL retail price. NO word on when OFFICIAL Unlocked version will be available.

Can you buy the phone with AT&T Next on the Apple store?

Yes, you can select it as an option. I've seen it there when adding my AT&T information to check if I'm good for an upgrade. (Before the store went down, you could go through the process but not checkout)

You can get them to unlock it after 40 days of being with them though. Thats what i dis with sprint

iPhone 6 Plus 64GB or 128GB ??

Getting the Silver i6 Plus 64GB Verizon.. Was Contemplating about the getting the 128GB though since I have a pretty huge iTunes Library (mostly movies) and tons of pictures/videos on my Early 2009 iMac which I plan on upgrading when it finally chooses to give up! Still debating between the two storages... could use the extra $100 for the Applecare+ versus going up to 128GB

They usually wait for demand to meet supply. Could be a couple months. I forget when the unlocked 5s was offered. I really can't remember if it was before or after Christmas. I just know it was a couple months after the launch.
