If I don't get the phone I want tonight I'll be ok. Last year I had an iPhone 4 that I'd had for 3 years so I was really anxious to get a new one and I did but I used the iPhone app, which didn't crash like the website did so I would recommend that to anyone who is upgrading their existing phone. I'll be using the Apple website because I can't get a new line using the app.

Looking at the specs page, it looks like the iPhone 6 might be separate while the iPhone 6 Plus is a "world phone."

I'm with ya. I had the slate 5 and space grey 5s. Going for the 6+ 128gb and can't decide on white/silver or black/space grey! Had a white 4s and really liked it. But with this gargantuan phone, I'm wondering how crazy it'll look in white.

I have two lines also and the last 3 releases I was able to buy phones for each line. I think they were separate purchases though. I'm not sure on the purchase part but I know I was able to order two phones.

The rep today told me that you would pay half of whatever it retails for. You won't be charged until the phone ships. In addition, you'd pay a prorated amount of the remainder (about $35/mo, I think) till it's paid off but you can pay the rest off at any time. It's not a contract and there'd be no penalties for canceling once it's paid in full.

Thanks for the explanation. I'm an existing AT&T customer but I want to get a second line that I can use for tethering when our unreliable work network goes down so I am looking to try T Mobile unlocked phone. I'm in the unusual situation of having a reliable home network and a flaky work one.

Very unlikely. Usually a lucky few get them early, but they are very isolated cases because Apple works closely with the couriers to prevent it.

AT&T's website is down as well. They have a counter running when you check eligibility. I have to go through AT&T's website rather than Apple because I have to share an upgrade when I order. I really wish Apple would allow that on their site.

Can't you just order it on the eligible line theb do a sim swap? That's what I've done in the past.

I use case to carry from place to place but mostly it's without its case. The case I have covers it completely so you unzip and take it out to use. I leave it out 98% of the time. I got mine a year ago and its pristine. I'm not trading it in. Still love it (5s).

when I had 5 I noticed that white ones had higher resale value, but 6 being "uglier" (imho) it looks better in black.. so that's what Im going with..

Haha. Yeah I'd say just pre order. I waited in line once years ago and it sucks. I'm preordering tonight and picking up on Sunday the 21st. Hopefully they'll have me and my wife's phones!

Yep they put a date hold on shipments so they can't release them early even if the package is a mile away from you it won't be delivered until the date set by Apple.

Question, perhaps a dumb one. Will an unlocked iPhone 6 work on the Virgin network? Doesn't it have both GSM and CDMA inside?

If not, then I have to decide whether to wait a few months for Virgin to get it, or I could go with T Mobile no contract

or I could get sucked into a 2 yr contract with Sprint

or I could get an Android phone... Wait, scratch that last one

One important caveat: While the T-Mobile iPhone 6 does not require a contract, it doesn’t come unlocked either.
