I would counter that us macrumors regulars pretty much are the entire spear. Normal humans dont sit around looking at the apple website or even give a crap if it goes down for an hour.... we're just the tip of the spear). This is why they take the site offline first.
Who besides macrumors even mentions the site goes down?
Umm I just googled the same thing and mostly what shows up are sites that tell you what popular websites are currently down. Not many actual news sites that average people would come across on a regular basisLooks like at least a hundred sites or so if you search on Google for "apple store down" and look at results from the past 24h.
I don’t think you understand how the Apple Store services work. Would explain what you said.
