So nice to see Apple still use the exchange rates to shaft UK customers! :(

Exactly - what a rip off. Even when the xrate is sh*t at $1.5=£1 instead of $2=£1 like a year or so ago - they still rip us off with an xrate of $1.2=£1 - what a total rip off. OK, if you import from the US you have 10% duty and 17.5% tax to pay but I assume there's sales tax in the US anyway

Rip off - a $2000 MBP should be £1400 max in the UK

My current feelings towards apple and 13"

meh.. i5 in only 15"+ .. 13" is still core2duo. figures. i don't need to lug around a 15".

High resolution anti-glare is a rip off in the UK!

Costs the same in £ as it does in $!

When Steve Jobs allegedly replied to an email about the MacBooks he said not to worry, I got the impression that something impressive was coming.

I mean the processor speed bumps (i7) is nice but I was expecting a bit more TBH.

Hopefully there blazin' fast.

is anyone else disappointed with the update? pretty minor with the exception of the i7s.

Quite expected really - Core i5/i7s, the hi-res screen option on 15", Nvidia Optimus graphics, 16:10 display resolutions remain, no Blu-Ray.

Yes some will be disappointed but that was the realistic refresh, basically more CPU/GPU, screen options, newer HDD/SDD options.

1680x1050 res on the 15" makes me happy :)

Also, the dedicated 320M on the 13" makes it a real choice for me. I'm very happy about this update, but am kind of scratching my head as to why there's no 17" i7 and if the i7 in the 15" is a quad-core or not. Can't seem to find it.

17 inch does have i7.

Sorry, you're buying a 13" laptop and complaining about the processor only being a C2D still? It's the lower end laptop in the line-up, expecting it to have the same specs as a 17" version but with smaller display is never quite going to happen.

Personally I can't see what I could possibly ever do on a tidgy little laptop like that that would warrant more number-crunching capacity. Unless you're just doing protein folding because you're bored?

I'd be more disappointed about the relatively flat scale of GPU performance across the line-up. I'm a bit disappointed also that the Mac Pro and Macbook Air haven't been updated. The Buyer's Guide here basically will now say "Don't buy a mac unless you want a MBP"

Bah.

HA! Joke's on me...

I waited all this time for a 13" core iX. What a fool I am. Perhaps they're not done quite yet but at least I won't have to pay more for the RAM and HDD I wanted to upgrade.
