Better have 700 and 800 series i7!

Well I hope Apple do include at "LEAST" a 700 or 800 series i7 processor in the 17inch...I want quad core not dual core

Also, and more importantly from what I can tell to others, is the 600 series i3, i5 and i7's all have "included Intel" GPU's...

See below:

Mobile Core i7 600 Series
The Core i7 600 series actually consists of two seperate model types, those being low voltage and standard voltage. The low voltage products have a L attached to their model names.
Besides power draw, however, these models are basically the same. They have clock speeds ranging from 2 to 2.66 Ghz. They are dual core processors with Turbo Boost and hyper-threading. The Turbo Boost feature is just slightly more aggresive on the low voltage products than the standard voltage ones. These processors all have 4 megabytes of L3 cache. Also, all of these processors include an integrated graphics processor.

Hey guys

First time macbook pro buyer (13"). Quick question, when apple does an update like this, do their retail stores already have the new macbooks on release day? or do they come a few days later after the online store has been updated?

Cheers :)

im hoping to update my MBP today too after a slight dropping accident on my last one, but I have the 2.8 GHZ June 09 model

As i understand it the 2.6 version will be faster with the I5 is that true even tho its a lower spec .

Sorry to get your hopes down guys but... Most likely an i3 on the 13" i5 on the 15" i7 on the 17". 4GB of ram on all. Modest upgrade to video cards. Same unibody design.

Thats my bet :) nothing overly crazy.

And that was why I didn't mind buying my MBP last month. I've seen the updates when they come out and they have never made me regret keeping my old computer.

I know this is a weird question but I'm going to college, and planning to get a 13 inch pro but are these going to be the last updates until august. Would to be safe for me to buy these versions or wait....

Please explain why the i7 is slower then the high end 15 inch?

I want a 2.26 Ghz 17Inch i7

with 8GB Ram OH YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:D
Now.... Should I get FCP 3 or wait??

I'm with you, who uses CD's or DVD's anymore? Okay maybe Blu-Ray's but that's not for a portable computer, an iMac maybe.

Not per se. If you want to watch a bluray movie on the go (in your car, ...), you probably don't take a 21.5" or 27" iMac into your car with an external supply of giant kick-ass batteries to power your iMac... You just take a laptop to watch it...
