over an hour already

it has been over an hour already.. this is the longest non-convention store down time I have seen..

anyone else agree? i can hardly wait to see what they roll out.. i need a new macbook pro :D:apple:

People be a little bit reasonable.... the 13'' will not have an i7 xD

It is probably just the standard i3 (which is the same thing as a c2d)

Sorry to get your hopes down guys but... Most likely an i3 on the 13" i5 on the 15" i7 on the 17". 4GB of ram on all. Modest upgrade to video cards. Same unibody design.

Thats my bet :) nothing overly crazy.

Girlfriend just bought a 13" MBP 2 weeks ago

Has anyone had any experiences with getting a macbook pro replaced with the new model if they update the line-up just two weeks after you purchased?

Would hate for her to miss out by only a week. :(

Thanks

This being MacRumors forums, I will be interested to see the shrieking about how Apple failed this time, once the store comes back up and the new model announcement is made.

different architecture thus faster... old ones were c2d.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Core_i5

still... why can't they build in more core i7 with hyperthreading :(

The mobile dual core i5 has hyperthreading, just like the mobile dual core i7. Intel has made its processor names (intentionally? ) confusing. The only difference between the rumoured i5-520, i5-540 and i7-620 is clock speed and a tiny difference in cache size.

I believe you've got a two week window. Apple has a policy like that in place.

Too late Apple, I just bought that other overpriced underspecced American consumerist status symbol, a new Harley-Davidson.

The Macbook I have now will have to last a few more months.

SD = Secure Digital card reader built in. The 17 has a express port. Very bad idea on Apples part. The only thing that can save it is a built in e-sata port otherwise high end users lose big time on external fast hard drives. Reason I may just hold onto my 15 inch late 2008 model with express port.

Seriously this is a major problem for high end photographers and graphic professional. We need fast external connections for storage and backup. Not to mention scratch disk and such. I'm totally passing if there is not a quad core in this mix. I have 4 laptops and a Ipad and if this downsizing to laptops continues I may have to go back to a PC. Let's see what happens but a MacPro does not travel around the world well to work.

Anyone fancy calling 0800-my-apple pretending to be a loving grandparent - just innocently buying a MBP for his grandson and see what the reply is? :p

When the iMacs and the Magic Mouse were released (in a similar fashion) in October last year, the store was down for 2 hours+
