Think of all the return requests they get from people that bought just before these announcements, only to find out their products are instantly dated. I imagine this is a calculated business move.
Yep, this is what I believe. People say it is for hype but I don't buy that considering they took the store down to a gift card with AppleTV purchase recently.
I have an 11 Pro Max and considering an upgrade but I also need 1 iPad Pro (M2)
Since budget is on the limit, I am considering replacing the battery on the 11 PM, unless 14 PM is worth the upgrade for my usage: mail, slack, sometimes a bit of camera.

wish I could see all of the posts of people who have been saying (and always say) that the next event is going to be boring and the products are stale. I’m sure a lot of them will have their eyes glued, like clockwork.

This is perfectly reasonable. The presentation only goes over the big ticket items and usually leaves out a bunch of little spec updates and features. They just don't have the time to go over every little detail.
Just don't try and upgrade on a "S" year. Not sure if that's even a thing anymore come to think of it.🤔

Is it my memory that is failing? Could be. But in the UK, the rest of Apple's site seems to be working as normal. You can look at tech specs, etc., across all devices. Only when you actually go to Buy or Store do you get stopped by Far Out.

We actually never thought about this. What if the standard models will be rebranded as the iPhone 13s while the Pro and Pro Max are called iPhone 14 instead?
