A man has died and 16 people were injured Monday after a black SUV crashed into the Apple store in the Derby Street shopping center.

plenty of Apple's newest stores have bollards, benches, or trees in planters to act as barriers in the event of a rogue vehicle, so I'm surprised no such measures have been retrofitted to this store. They do have some shrubbery on the side walk but it's merely a couple of skimpy trees and grass.
Apple: Crash detection is a hit. And just to prove it we drove an SUV into one of our stores!

Apple Derby Street in the Boston suburb of Hingham, Massachusetts was struck by a vehicle on Monday morning, according to local ABC affiliate WCVB. The report claimed at least five people have been injured and said first responders and ambulances were on scene.
Local reports state that a black SUV crashed into the store shortly before 11 a.m. Eastern Time, with a large hole visible in the glass facade.
This is a developing situation. We will update this story as additional information becomes available from local news organizations.

Actually that’s the new drive thru apple is testing.
I hope everyone that was injured there gets a full recovery. Also, the person responsible is held accountable for his/hers action

People were hurt. Now is probably not the best time for jokes.
I worked at this store several years ago. It’s a wonderful place to work, filled with many wonderful people. This is devastating. Praying for everyone involved.
Most of the time these accidents are not malicious. Once had a pickup truck with red paint in the back crash in to a building I worked in. Needless to say it looked much more horrific then it was.I hope this wasn't deliberate. Seems there's a lot more crazy out there lately.
This is terrible to hear. I hope those who are injured are only minor injuries, and that this was not a deliberate or malicious act.
Notice that they didn't say the make of the car. That only happens if it's a Tesla. Nothing like impartial news stories.

The store is tucked behind all those rows of parking. It’s surely deliberate.I hope this wasn't deliberate. Seems there's a lot more crazy out there lately.
Oh my! I hope the families kept the receipts for returns this year. Apple always was big hit.
Or driver unconscious or mechanical failure. Issue is all the articles I read lately leave out Why
Generally, it's reported it's a Tesla when the Tesla's autonomous driving systems are activated and it crashes. But I'm glad this was your main take-away from this tragic event.
