Apple Store is down!

eh which you think would ship faster, AT&T or apple? anyone with past orders got it on same day release or earlier? Through Apple or your carrier?
 
Wow I didn't know we had so many site admins on this board?

I already expected it to go down. It's not apple's fault MILLIONS of people from across the globe are trying to hit the site at the same time. Even the highest end web servers would stress out over the number of queries, nor does it make sense to invest in 100k etc worth of servers for a one time event.
 
this is laaaaame.. 3-4 hrs past my bedtime lol im going into the offiice late tomorrow for sure
 
Two things:

1) Props to Verizon for having their ***** together, and;

2) That ugly yellow phone case is still at the bottom of these MacRumors pages. Someone please make that ugly thang go away!!

This is exactly right. They took quite a while to get the site up last year, and then everyone had to try multiple times before an order actually got through. Expect it to be the same here. Good luck to everyone, but stay calm, because it's going to be rough.

I'm sitting here with multiple browsers open including the app store on my iPhone, all are set on auto refresh...... gotta see which one wins.
 
Why all the panic, it's the iPhone 4S not the 5, hardly anyone wants it. Get some sleep and come back at lunchtime, there will be loads left.

Now if we'd seen an iPhone 5, I can assure you it'd be a complete mess.

Prolly cuz the ATT web admins are retards and are updating their website one server at a time without taking each out of load balancing first, then updating it and putting it back in before going on to the next server. So you'll randomly get either the old site or new one every time you hit refresh.
