Apple Store London to open November 21

Can't wait to meet you lot, gonna be a good evening!

Anyone got some portable speakers?? Im sure a few of us are gonna be able to share our music libraries so we should have a few years worth of music!

it was me, i confess i have long geeky hair 😱, and it was in ibook, and the wireless works great

btw i'm doing up my mac rumors ibook design, it's black with the mac rumors thing, i'm currently smoothing out the jagged edges from the enlarged image.

err yes, the tall guy was the american dude who's camping out.

Just been past (10.10pm) no-one queueing. very, very cold out there with the wind.

Not sure how many will be prepared to camp out in this weather.

I'll (plus 2) see you all down there tommorrow night

Went past at about 18.50 and think i saw iseenoevil and a couple of other stalwarts outside in the rain and wind, the store looks awesome at night and blows away the other shops roundabout. Lots of passersby stopping and gawping at all the cool stuff inside..!!
Looks like the weather tomorrow should be dry and sunny but only 6 Centigrade..!!

Steve Jobs ???

Has anyone heard if Steve J. is coming for the opening.. 😕
I thought i'd read somewhere that he might turn up as this is the biggest store anywhere and the first in Europe, what about Jonathan Ive being there as he's english... 😉
That would be too much to expect wouldn't it.... 😀
 
Camping Overnight

Hi,

I'm new to this page, and live in Camden, London, and was planning on going down to the opening of the Apple Store. I was going to camp out, but didn't know what time the majority of people were getting there. I am a student at UCL, and have lectures until 4pm, and was going to get there for about 6ish - do you guys think that is too late?

Please post back a reply, so i know who else is camping out, for a bit of cameraderie.

Hey pat, 6 will be fine, probably be less than 100 people there then (at a guess) At the moment there are 27ish people from this forum camping (go back a page or two)

Apple Store London by Night Pictures

A few pictures of the Regent Street Apple Store taken tonight.

(It's bloody cold - best of luck to anyone camping out tomorrow night - The only thing lucky about the so called lucky bags is that you'll be lucky if ya don't freeze to death.... lol)
 
well hello

none of my friends understand and I presume none of yours do either. the only reason I wouldn't camp out over night is that i have no one to camp out with 🙁 so if anyone wants to meet up sat morning early then I'd l'd love to chat/sleep/develop coffee pseudo-partnerships with anyone wanting to meet up then in central london.

Everyone. I love the amount of devotion that has gone into this forum and I think its important that we aren't just a 'bunch of geeks' but people that genuinely will make waiting outside for a shop to open a good time.

plse forgive me if I am blabbering. it's 2 in the morning and I am plastered. Anyway. I appreciate this forum and I Love everyone who has contributed.

update

Posted some updates on http://www.stormyshippy.com/. Still cold and my fingers are numb after typing. Will try to put up some videos/pics later. Maybe the iSight can take some decent video clips for everyone.

There was a short period of time when i regrouped from the crazy rain. Had trouble making my way by bus back to Regent St. Thats probably why no one was around when you stopped by.
 
It looks like Apple isn't done with its plans for the UK in 2005.

Apple hopes to repeat this success in London this Saturday, November 20, when it throws open the doors of its newest outlet to this city's Mac-hungry public.

Company plans don't end there: "We will be opening two new stores in the UK next year," Johnson said.

The new outlets will be situated at Birmingham's Bullring and Kent's huge Bluewater shopping centre. "We want to open as soon as possible," Johnson said, confirming the company to be "working closely in Europe" to open additional outlets there.

Apple chose to launch in the UK's busiest street, Regent Street, the Bullring and Bluewater, because, "we wanted to be where the people go to be part of their lives."

He could only confirm the Birmingham and Kent stores will open "sometime in 2005", though his manner implied that Apple hopes to open in the new locations early in 2005.

The Birmingham store was already known from job listings, but this is the first acknowledgment of a Kent store.

I've just woken up and there's snow on the ground here, it's absolutely freezing. Hope you guys sleeping in the street did a bit better with the weather down there. Have a good day today. I may drop by this evening and then I should be there by 5am tomorrow morning.

I just want to say how excited I am about this man, I am also really happy to be part of such a vibrant community who is just as nuts as I am to camp out late-November in central London! 😀

Me and my friends are going off to Max Expo in Angel this afternoon, but should be in the queue by 6/7pm. I hope to see you guys soon, fellow hardcore geeks 😛 🙂

The only things I could suggest would be gloves, scarf, a pen and paper oh and some food 🙂
 
Todays the day...If anyone is going to the expo and you see a guy walking round with a 75 litre Backpack on say hi!!

See all the insane campers in a few hours
 
Can I assume, the only people likely to get a chance at the lucky bags are the people that camp out. Think someone there at 10:00am would have a chance?
