btw, the store has been getting a *lot* of attention today - I passed around 3 times (early, mid and late afternoon) and a lot of the people that passed the store stoped to have a look in. I dont think this store is *ever* going to be half full..

Will be there for around 10pm Friday night. Got back from Phoenix Arizona on Wednesday and they had an Apple Store. It was small, but had everything, even 2.5Ghz Powermac's and the 30-inch screens in stock.

Cannot wait, I can show you all the pics on my new 40GB iPod photo, the Grand Canyon was AMAZING!!!

winning $150 in vegas will help with the purchase of a lucky bag (hopefully with an ipod in it!!)

It's just started snowing here, I know im a fair bit north of London but it's not looking too good on the weather front! Good luck to those of you crazy enough to camp out.

Just wondered if someone could answer a question I have...

I'm gonna try buy a lucky bag: how am I going to pay for it? Will the Apple store accept my Visa electron Card? I'm a tennager, and its not a proper card, but I can buy stuff from HMV and GAP etc with it... Or will I need to bring cash? Just occured to me... 🙂

Did anyone in London see the itv or BBC regional news tonight, both had features on the new Applestores.

The itv one centred on how the iPod has become a cult icon with interviews of iPod users on the tube with a couple of shots of inside the store but nothing special.

The BBC London article had more shots of inside the store and did an interview of two of the Applestore Geniuses at the bar which went like this (from a scratchy memory):
'What was the first Apple computer?', 'That would be the Apple 2', 'What was the first popularly bought Apple computer and when was it produced?','The Macintosh in 1984', 'What speed did it run at?', 'Something very slow', 'And they call themselves geniuses (sarcasm)'

Also both had interviews with VP Ron Johnson mainly talking about the vision and ethos of the stores.

incase you missed it it'll probably be back on sometime during the 10 o'clock bulletins.

So its getting alot of publicity fortunately they didn't mention lucky bags, so hopefully no more competition, see you guys tommorrow night,

Well as long as everyone turns up the Ginza store camp out is beaten. Glad im not going to be alone, was getting a bit worried!.

My bag (at the moment) contains:

2 Sleeping bags (1 old and 1 warm)
Groundmat
jacket
coat
thick hoody
windproof jumper
couple of pairs of thick socks
Skiing salopets (its gona be cold!)
gloves
turtle (scarf thing)
silly hat (resembles russian style with ear flaps)

If you see someone camping tomorrow night with hat on say hi
 
XIII you should be okay with a visa electron card as it is a perfectly valid debit card. As long as you have the money that you are spending in your account or you are not going over any overdraft limit there should be no problems. Also its a lot safer having a card and not having large amounts of money on you. If you lost your money then you've lost your money. If you lose your card its either inconvenient cos you have no access to money, or if some money is taken from your account without your permission(ie stolen) you nearly always get it back from your bank at a later date.
Just as a further aside and this is probably something everyone knows but it is better to use your credit card for purchases over £50 because most credit cards have 6months accident insurance for goods over this amount.
 
Does someone know when they will be closing Saturday for the day, I wanna visit but I can only in the evening like after 7, will they still be open?

damnit, i really want a lucky bag, but with an iMac G5 on order, I would feel bad for asking for another £250 from my parents.

Ok, I want one. My parents return from their holiday at around 7am tomorrow. that gives me 12 hours to convince them and get the cash 😎 (so i can start queuing on fri eve)

Jeez, I feel like James Bond now - A man with a mission 😛
