Apple Stores Can Upgrade a Studio Display's Stand After Purchase

Not sure if anyone is still looking for this info. But apple will swap the stand for vesa mount and vise versa. The cost is $119 for VESA mount and $99 for labor as they claim this repair is “out of warranty” they will also return the stand to you and it’s $99 if you ever want to swap it back.apple care + has no bearing under it they tried to get the labor waived but apples system wouldn’t allow it. Here is the service receipt to go from tilt stand to vesa mount

they also offer it as a self service repair but not sure what that cost is.

That's absurd. Makes the decision to get the VESA mount ($1300 at BB right now) easier.

I agree. I reviewed my usage situation on my standing desk, and I chickened out on the expensive height adjustable stand. I brought my screen in and they are putting a VESA mount on it. I think it's going to work out great.

I finally just got the $1299 VESA ASD from BestBuy. With 5% back, BestBuy CC 2% back, I felt it was a reasonable price.

On sale. BB has the ASD on sale all the time; just keep checking and I'm sure it will happen again.

Slickdeals also routinely posts the 'when' details too, so you can set up deal alerts there...

Just posting this in case someone finds this thread through Google.

I contacted Apple today and they said that they’d buy back my screen (I didn’t buy it from them) and then I can buy the one I want. Since I have the tilt stand and want to get the one with vesa mount I don’t have to pay anything. They said that they don’t do any labor like I have read here in the thread. I live in Sweden.

i had this done a month ago, cost me the $218 and they had it for about a day. Dropped it off a Thursday evening and got a call Friday evening that it was ready.
