Why does everything have to have some sentimental, feel good video now? it's a gadget to put a screen protector on a phone, not a device that cures cancer. get rid of the cheesy music and just say "we built this so you don't eff it up, now give us your money"

Hmmm not a fan of belkin or invis shield, I've been with Ghost Armor since iPhone 3G... But I do wonder how this is gonna come across at next iPhone launch....

Only phones, not tablets? My iPhone doesn't really smudge but my Air 2 does big time. I bought a Zagg film and it was a disaster and I ended up throwing it away (and throwing about $50).

I'm on the side of no screen protector. Had iPhones since the 3GS, and had Android phones since the Nexus one, never put a screen protector, and they all have pristine screens. I mean that's the point of gorilla glass, to prevent scratches.

Now I can understand those that use their phones for work and need more ruggedness, especially if the phone is exposed to sands and dust. But normal use? Save the money.

Impossible

I bought my 6S+ at the Verizon store along with a screen protector they installed. The guy did a great job and I love it. I never had protectors beforehand but I probably always will now. Nice that the Apple store is finally installing them for people.

Never like screen protector as after a few days they ended up looking worse than what the screen with scratches did anyway. So all they really did was maybe slightly help resale value.

99% of the scratches I get are always the scratches in the coating, which you can't see or feel unless really looking for them. Wish Apple could do a better job at eliminating those.

Glass screen protectors are definitely the way forward, if you absolutely feel it necessary for you to have any sort of screen protection. I got one for Christmas and I thought it was novelty, decided to put it on my phone when I had it replaced for an issue and I'm impressed. You don't get any of the weird discolouration like you get from an ordinary plastic screen protector, it feels just like my phone screen and doesn't really get greasy. The idea of being able to apply one perfectly every time, without leaving the Apple Store, is great.

Although I guess the argument is more rather what are screen protectors for and why exactly do we need them? Why exactly do we need to preserve the actual screen of the device. The only times screen scratches really affect you is when they go so deep you can see them when the screen is on. I had one scratch like that on my phone before I got it replaced.

"Sure, we'll apply that screen protector for you!"
"It'll only be $59.99 for that service on top of the screen protector price."

Is everyone going to ignore that I posted the prices on the first page? $34.95 for the "glass" one and $17.95 for the anti-glare.

I work as a Specialist at an Apple Retail Store. We've always put screen protectors on for all of our customers. This Belkin machine is just a nice way to ensure a perfect fit.

if they are to offer it in apple store, then why wouldn't they just apply screen protectors in factory? if really 90% of people want it,makes much more sense to apply them by default in factory,so the 10% who don't want it can just remove it?

The 10% would start a class action suit!

Belkin is the one that made the install kit. It's pretty neat seeing it put on.
True, but it's not the only way to put on screen protectors.
Apple has shipped machines to Apple Stores that enable repairs that once needed to be done off-site, what's to stop Apple from using machines that can apply more than one brand of protector?

Nothing but money from Belkin, but again, that's okay I guess. *shrug*

Cool message: "our screens aren't tough/scratch-resistant enough without a 3rd-party addition."

This is pretty weak stuff. If the screen is lacking in some respect (toughness, scratch-resistance), then improve the screen.

As of today, Apple Stores across the United States and around the world are offering a new system that allows Apple Store employees to apply Belkin-branded screen protectors for iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and 6s Plus customers. Many stores across the world began rolling out the Belkin ScreenCare+ Application System last week, but the system is officially available in retail stores starting this morning.

Belkin's ScreenCare+ Application System lets Apple Store employees accurately and precisely apply screen protectors using a ScreenCare+ machine. When a customer purchases either a Belkin TrueClear Invisiglass Screen Protector or a Belkin TrueClear Anti-Glare Screen Protector, an Apple retail employee who has been trained in the application method will bring the ScreenCare+ machine from the back of the store.

Using the machine, the employee will clean a customer's iPhone display and then apply the screen protector directly in front of the customer. Should a mistake be made during the application process, a new screen protector will be applied at no cost to the customer.

The Belkin screen protector application service should greatly cut down on the hassle involved with applying a screen protector at home. With Belkin's machine, there's less room for error as alignment is automatic and there's little chance of dust or debris accidentally getting stuck under the screen protector.

ScreenCare+ is available at Apple Stores worldwide, but screen protector application is limited to Apple's latest iPhones - the iPhone 6, 6s, 6 Plus, and 6s Plus. Belkin's Invisiglass screen protector is made from an ultra-thin, flexible glass that absorbs shock and is shatterproof while preserving the natural feel of the iPhone. The Anti-Glare screen protector reduces glare to improve visibility in bright light while also protecting the iPhone display from damage.

Screen protectors can be purchased from Apple retail stores and applied by Apple Store employees starting immediately.
