Unless your wearing a N95 or N95s mask it’s like using a paper seatbelt in your car, you might feel safe but you are not safe. Wear the correct equipment.
Masks are part of a layered approach for the main way this virus spreads, droplets. More layers the fewer droplets reach another. Equals less sick or not at all infected. The marks plus distance plus reduction in the number of people, plus the size of the environment all add up to a significant reduction of droplets. True the better each layer the better the protection. Zero layers simple physics as to why not a good option. Do masks work, no question they do. They are one layer in a multi-layer approach.

thank you.. history does have its moments. Can't change it can you? But if you live in the USA, I am sure you like your freedom don't you?
I just want to be sure the quote is interpreted correctly. It's about how other people's sacrifice grants hypocritical privilege. It's a historical quote that remains very relevant. That's why people quote it so often.

Honest question: wouldn’t asking someone if they’re vaccinated be in violation of HIPAA laws? Because you’d be sharing medical information in a public place and not in confidentiality?

Edit: I could have sworn the post said HIPPA when I originally hit “reply”, but the point still stands: A lot of people still misrepresent what HIPAA is.

Not sure what you mean. The reason your cough doesn't go as far is because your face is covered.
Most people don't need to expose their faces to others. It's hypocritical for most people to complain notches and comic sans with an uncovered face. Just pointing out that there are benefits to masks beyond reducing the spread of disease.

Actually Biden had a remote inauguration and I must have missed the massive unmasked non-socially distances organized celebrations. As to your country, I am glad the pandemic is receding, as we can see your country had a bad time of it until recently. How is the vaccination program there? Looks like it is approaching 50%, I suggest that is part of the reason to celebrate.
How could you missed the full streets in Washington the day Biden won? It was on TV and nobody even questioned it. And I'm not even mentioning the riots in the summer. Covid wasn't there too, apparently.

Well the pandemic is receding because it's not winter anymore and respiratory disease season ended. It will be back in the fall as it always is no matter what. That's the reason, not the vaccination. The 50% is the first dose. Completely vaccinated is about 20% and that's mainly the elderly and essential workers.

Have fun with that. Did you wear masks every flu season?

The instances of flu this year are WAY DOWN, almost non-existent, due to mask-wearing, more people choosing to get the flu vaccine, social distancing, working from home, reduced school hours, etc.

If you look at Asian countries, mask-wearing is considered normal throughout the year, especially due to the smog that "regions" like Hong Kong experience. It's smart and sensible. Everyone here in North America (US and Canada) and elsewhere that threw up a stink about wearing a mask are selfish and short-sighted. I hope that the human race in general has grown a bit in the past year.

Wrong, try again, Over 54% of people 18 and up are fully vaccinated, 43% total

I don't get it. Is this about protecting your privacy in public or something?

Again. I did not say anything like this. You're twisting it and you know it because you don't like what I'm saying. I'm stating he's a big part of this scamdemic and the world has evidence of that. Explain to me why there's no pandemic in Mexico, Florida, Texas, Sweden, Belarus, etc.? Why can't the rest of the world live normally?
You’re the one saying there’s a “scamdemic,” the burden is on you to explain, not for me to prove a negative. I’ll show you an example of what you’re doing: “explain to me that it wasn’t aliens who landed in Roswell?”

Plus, even that aside, are you seriously conflating different effects in different places, and environmental factors with “the pandemic doesn’t exist and is totally fake”?

It doesn’t snow in Aruba. That said, snow exists.

You’re right that you didn’t say he invented it. So let me rephrase: what was Fauci’s incentive to further the “narrative”? What was the endgame of the whole plan?

There’s a universe of difference between why anyone would orchestrate an entire fake pandemic, and the intended cause/effect, and retroactively determining “doesn’t it seem odd that…” and simply casting speculation.

Unless you can explain what the scam is supposed to be—whether I “like” it or not is immaterial, so don’t distract—then just like a solution in search of a problem, all you have is loose “evidence” in search of a conspiracy.

Again, forget about me—just explain the scam that you are so certain exists.

For example, that he said that masks don't work, unless your sick or at the risk because you're chronically ill or old. Also, when people tried to warn him that the virus leaked from the Wuhan Lab, he replied that it's too long for him to read. Is that enough? This alone implies that we don't have to lockdown economics and ruin people's lives. And he lied about financing the research there, he lied about the gain of function research and he lied under oath. Why is that not enough for you? What more do you want?
1. Wrong. Fact checked:

2. You didn't cite a specific email as I said in my reply. Therefore I'm assume you got this info through an unreliable source as they did the digestion of info and regurgitated something completely inaccurate which you ate it up without second guessing.

I believe we've reached the end of discussion here.

It's a bonus benefit to decreasing the spread of disease. Not seeing ugly mugs. Maybe you live in a 90's sitcom where everyone is pretty, but where I live most people could do with a few extra layers.

Face shields are transperent. They do nothing.

This one is too good to not respond to.

Do you actually think that the "transparency" of solid plastic allows the virus to spread? 😳

Face Shields block forward dispersion of droplets, limiting the spread's reach. They also prevent others from spreading droplets directly onto your face, which helps, too.

I would say that face shields are less effective than masks, and are most effective when -combined- with a mask.

Quite frankly after reading many of your posts, you are totally clueless
Actually droplet studies do show face shields are virtually worthless in preventing their spread.

I think the transparency of the mask allows me to see their face. That's what I like about fabric masks. They block the view.
