Could not care one iota less about these massive companies having some small amount of people pirate stuff yawn

That’s what I do, I juggle. If you want immediacy, then pay the price and don’t complain. Immediacy always comes at a cost; always.

and no, it’s not a nightmare at all. It takes a whole minute every one or two months.
I agree, I'm not going to defend pirates as I said in my other comment you liked, but I'm just explaining what I view as the problem. People are lazy and cheap. The music industry solved the problem first with cheap easy downloads through itunes then streaming services. TV and Movies was on the right track. Piracy plummeted when Netflix and Hulu were the only big names in the game, but instead of learning from the music industry video entertainment caused the problem to return in full force and possibly worse by fragmenting the marketing.

I'm still a Cable Guy.
My favorite channel (MeTV) does not stream.
Only cable is compelled to make OTA TV available.
Cutting the cord means kissing many useful channels bye-bye.
All that said, I don't pay for anything beyond my cable.
Apple TV+ is probably the best thing Apple does.
I don't have any current Apple devices.
I don't really want any, but would like to use Apple One.
It should not be mandatory to own an Apple device to use Apple Music,
iCloud and Apple Arcade.
Can't use the iTunes Store without Windows.
Not going to pay Apple for anything until I can use their services on my next computer OS, which could end up being Linux.
I'm like 99% sure apple music is on android now and you can access it through itunes on windows.

You’re not reading what I am writing.
Yes I did.
“All” means every single movie, tv shows, random videos that are ever filmed in existence today.
Ok, let me deduct “all” into those commercial tv shows and movies. I still can’t find a single streaming service that can watch “all” of them, binge or chasing after new show.

Maybe you should read what I posted.

Even if the content isn't released all at once, do you really need to watch it in real time? Most shows are weekly, 10 episodes. That's like waiting a month and a half or two months while you enjoy other shows somewhere else.
Depends on the show and if it's popular enough to be discussed. If you go to certain webpage like Yahoo, MSN or whatever they seem to post up articles that are semi spoilers without you clicking. Also have to worry about some spoiler on social media.

What would be nice is if services offered a suspend acct rather than having to cancel. Allow you to suspend your acct for up to a year from when you suspend it. That way you could suspend and unsuspend you acct for a month without having to go through the hoops of resetting up an acct

AppleTV+ has not removed any content, or did I miss something?
I haven't used Apple TV+ so I don't know... I only have Netflix as video streaming service...

As for music, I have used Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube Premium...

AppleTV+ has not removed any content, or did I miss something?
Yeah they didn’t remove any NOW cause likely those licenses are still valid. Wait until they actually remove contents from their service, as it will happen.
And oh, Apple Music removes contents too, you just happen to not notice.

I think there is one problem no one really considered which makes it impossible for the TV industry to follow the Music industry. When Netflix and Hulu where the big names, they mainly had purchased content. At the same time, TV productions were becoming increasingly better, more and more HBO-style productions. Then Netflix started its own programming which is arguably good from a quality point of view (certainly better than most shows in the 1990's for example). At the very same time that TV shows progressed, the Movie industry also had to morph into "Marvel-like" movies. The result is that now both Movies and TV Series are incredibly expensive to produce, all in a very competitive landscape. Heck, in my opinion nowadays TV Series are even much better than most movies that are released. This makes a "cheap" unified service impossible at the moment, until someone cracks the code.

Could be decent free press, alerting people that Apple TV+ actually has content people want to watch!

For sure!

I think Pirates eventually come around to realize that their time is worth more than the cost of getting a decent TV setup with 4K streaming and higher quality audio.

Why spoil the watching of a nice mini-series by having to watch it at less than full resolution really?

Even if you download 4K movies - it is a hassle to get it playing on your big TV and surround sound speakers.

Maybe when you are going on a long trip it's nice to have the hard drive full of movies or something in case there is a rainy day - but really the use case for Piracy has been going down for decades. It's a niche.

But hopefully you acknowledge that this is no excuse for theft or even an extenuating factor. I've read the Bill of Rights quite a few times, and I don't see anything about TV shows or movies in there 😉

EDIT: Wow . . . just read through more of this thread, and there are actually members here admitting (apparently without any sense of guilt) that they are stealing content. I mean, I'm not naive enough to think that no one here does that, but you'd think they'd at least be wise enough not to announce it on a public forum. Yikes! What is wrong with you people?!
This a response to a moronic reality.

I pay for some services. I don't pay for others. Video streaming is becoming the same convoluted mess that it was meant to replace. And after that they're going to screw up podcasts (Spotify is getting a head start but Apple, Google, and others will soon follow suit).

Companies could make it simpler and more consumer-friendly and still make a load of money, but greed seems to tip the scales every time and with that comes piracy.

Oh please. You know very well what I mean. I never said "all now" or all at once. I said that they're all available for you to choose, and you can watch them for less than $20/month. Just cycle through them and you will watch them all. It will take you a few months, so? Stop justifying piracy.

Maybe Apple doesn't care about piracy. Hear me out...

More people watching shows means more people talking about shows. And you're not really losing customers since they weren't buying AppleTV+ before, and as others have pointed out, most won't add another subscription.

But some people will pay. but they need to hear from friends about shows they love. if everything is behind a paywall, it's hard to get the word out. Ads, trailers and celebs don't cut it anymore since everyone does that. It's a sea of noise. The only thing that works is branded content with established audiences (hello Disney strategy) and word-of-mouth from friends and co-workers.

I know many of you will argue, but it's part of Bill Gates and Microsoft's strategy for a long time at the birth of computer industry. They made sure Word and Excel could fit on one disk so it was easy to copy. No protection. Once the world needed and wanted it, they copy protected it and spread installs across a dozen install disks.

I don’t disagree. It’s a challenge but what we have no is barely better then cable outside of the in demand features

I think YouTubeTV works this way

Completely correct. I'd like to see all the largest streaming services come up with "super unified" payment system to simplify payments.
On-top of geo blocks or different lists depending on geo or streaming services yelling at you if you consume content overseas when you travel....plenty of hoops.

Yeah, it's disappointing seeing the direction podcasts are heading in. Already I pay for several on Patreon to get all the episodes. Now I'm seeing more Apple exclusive and Spotify exclusive offerings. Only a matter of time before you need multiple subscriptions to listen to all the podcasts you want.

But then why isn't the music industry doing this? Seems like they could make more money through fragmentation (not trying to give them any ideas, but...) Maybe it's because music you listen to over and over, not so much with TV and podcasts.
