But my point was true since 2010. It’s not like it only became true since 2019.Oh okay. Only since 2019. Is that recent to you?

No your point wasn't true before 2019 because iPhones and iPads had exactly the same OS. There was no magic metamorphosis involved. Some people have such trouble admitting when they're wrong. But my point was true since 2010. It’s not like it only became true since 2019.

I think it would be so incredibly difficult to do, nobody will even try. That’s most likely why the M1 iPad has not be hacked to run MacOS.With the A15 chip and ram built in, somebody needs to do is add an external ssd and then hack it to actually run iOS.
I doubt it, As was mentioned in the article 64GB is the minimum ram for the A13 so just a cost thing than develop a new chip
It was years ago! Why mention this incredible "metamorphosis" when iPhones and iPads now have separate OSes?I don’t know why you’re being so confrontational.
iOS on iPad and iPhone weren’t identical before 2019 in the same way Windows running on a 15” laptop and a 30” display is identical.
For instance, on the first iPad you could set the background image. On later iPads, iOS included the PhotoBooth app. On iPad, iPhone apps appear in a scaled window, they don’t automatically scale to fit the screen like a Windows program would when running on a bigger monitor. Split screen multitasking on iPad predates iPadOS and isn’t on iPhone.
I don't think so. Has Apple ever sold a device with feature set "A" and over time introduced a new feature sets "B", "C", and "D" for the same hardware? One glaring example of missed opportunities was the original HomePod.I have a feeling this Studio Display is something else disguised as Display, i mean, it is going expand its functions/role in the ecosystem and so they are charging so much for it.
Stay tuned for cellular providers to provide plans for your Studio Display! So they basically put an iPhone 11 logic board in the Apple Studio Display.
More like typical macrumors front page comments.Minimum "RAM"? 64GB? on A13? And 8 People liked ?
Along with 20 other comments........ you guys joking around right?
It’s actually a modified, more efficient version of Breakout.According to my sources, 1GB is reserved for a version of Pong.
I'm starting to wonder, if a 27" iMac (Pro) would really be THAT expensive? A version with M1 Pro, starting at around $2500 seems quite plausible.
This is the comment I was looking for. I was not disappointed ??I can't believer they're only offering 64GB versions, hello apple it's 2022! 64GB is very little!
It’s always amusing to read comments by people who have never designed anything nor could they yet second guess apples engineers. It’s getting to where it’s almost impossible to hide just how arbitrary Apple’s limits are when imposed upon hardware by software. This thing could’ve been an Apple TV (without the need for a display).
This thing seems stupidly over-engineered and then intentionally crippled. Or maybe this isn’t engineering. Maybe it’s laziness/convenience and price gouging, because they have all these over-featured parts to use instead of something focused, less complicated, and less expensive.
This might be the first display that tweakers like hackinstoshers hack into something else. Might be a neat angle never explored.Though really, it feels like the display is just waiting for someone (not me) to edit some MacOS lib files and give us a 27” iMac. Sure, the A13 is probably closer to an i3 or entry level i5, 4GB ram would be tight, and 64GB storage is a joke… but this is something I’d definitely want to see happen.
As for wi-fi, I thought that was already on the SoC?
Install ATV+ and enable Siri control and boom! The fabled Apple TV? Any sign of a WiFi chip?I have a feeling this Studio Display is something else disguised as Display, i mean, it is going expand its functions/role in the ecosystem and so they are charging so much for it.
