Siri's performance tends to decline after my second martini. I think I'll have to mention this when I do her annual evaluation.

While I don't agree with the lawsuit I have to say that apple delivered a 1/2 a$$ product and you can arguably throw in the apple tv as a not so refined product.

Apple should of never delivered Siri nor should they have 1/2 a$$ed iCloud services.

What is going on with apple?!

will Siri ever leave the Beta stage or add new features? i mean ... it took the jailbreak community one day to come up with some great new commands

Would it have been any different if they defined what beta was on their site, like Microsift does for Windows 8? No, people would have still bought it and used it anyways. Bugs??? Oh, okay, I'll give it a shot.

"Currently the Beta version of this software is only available in English Language and since it is in the beta version, there might be a case of bugs in this version of release."

Sidepoint:
I personally believe the reason they released it in beta is because it's not feature complete. Not because it wasn't going to work as expected. Also, so that they can see how people use it and modify/alter it to behave as expected.

Yes it would have been different, they should explicitly state the limitations of the tech they are promoting before getting their marketing dept. to make big unfounded claims. I dont care what ms does, and btw windows 8 hasn't been released yet. They can, and they must modify away to make it behave as expected but they shouldn't tout it via marketing as feature complete when it's anything but.

What a DB! This guy really needs to get a life. Please don't give him a penny, Apple.

What do you call it when you take 10 money chasing lawyers, chain weights to them and throw them all in the ocean?
Answer: A good start.

There is 1 lawyer for every 256 persons in the US, approximately 1.4M lawyers in all.

I think Apple call it "beta" for a reason.

The beta tag does not protect one against misleading/ false advertising. Apple advertistments on Siri are misleading and false in many ways and the beta tag is not something to protect against that.

That being said I think the lawsuit is rather stupid honestly and the only way it will amount to anything is a class action.

While it's not perfect, Siri has done one majorly great thing for me. I can use an iPhone in a car totally handsfree (except for pressing the button to activate Siri).

Get in car (with bluetooth stereo integration that has an OEM mic in the car)

"Play songs from Rush" (Ding da ding ding ding da da...)
I'm driving down the street and I hear the text chime
"Read me my last text"
Siri reads a text from Chris "Hey are you around this eve?"
"Reply to Chris, tell him I will be home in 20 minutes"
(Siri reads it back and asks me if I want to send)
"Yes"
then
"Call my wife"
Siri calls my wife
"Honey I'll be home in 20 minutes and Chris is stopping by to help moving that big dresser."

This is a daily occurrence for me. I don't get why people can't use Siri effectively.

Here's a tip. Talk like a midwesterner (in the US version)

Wahter not warter
Cahl not cawl

I also talk to a lot of people who English is their second language (Germans in particular), so I talk to Siri the same way, very small fleeting pauses with each word, not so much that it sounds ridiculous, but just enough to notice it.

If you want a digital assistant that can do everything, well keep reading science fiction for now. When they talk back and question your motives, you'll wish they were as basic as Siri!

It's called BETA for a reason for God's sake!
It's called Siri for a reason too. What does it have to do with this lawsuit? Do Apple have a disclaimer in their commercials explaining that Siri is a Beta software and it works nowhere near what the ads say it does?

Wow. Dude should just get an Android device and be done with it. Someone has wayyyy too much time on their hands!

Anyone that bought the 4s primarily because of Siri is foolish. It's just a gimmick.

Anyway, Siri isn't a beta. Apple might be calling it that, but that just isn't what beta means.

It's a pre-alpha release of a technology that isn't even technically possible to get to work at anywhere near the advertised level of sophistication.

Phazer

wait, he actually expected a gimmick to be useful?

"made for kids" is what it should say on all iOS advertising. It is the Fisher-Price of mobile OS.

SIRI IS misleading ...

"Your wish is my command"

Bah, my house is still dirty and I didn't get a happy ending!

I agree, I mean that system is handy for when you are multitasking but you're not hands free, i.e. driving.

Though it has its flaws, I like to think that its still somewhat of a good system.

Perhaps the next version of the iPhone will be updated in this area.
