I returned mine.
$600 - it's an overpriced notification band. NO THANKS!

I actually feel naked without my LG G watch. I use mine for the most basic notifications. Do I really need it? No; but I only paid $79 for it last black Friday.
Once Apple gets the price down to at least $150 to $200 people won't regret the purchase as much. I personally feel that I don't need another app machine on my wrist. I just want basic notifications. To pay hundreds of dollars for my basic requirements is silly.

Let's be honest with ourselves and admit the Apple Watch is a flop (so far). Maybe Apple can redeem itself when they release WatchOS2 is this fall, but of all the Apple products I've owned in the last 10 years, the Apple watch is by far the most useless.

Right just like everyone said Apple was doomed if it didn't release a cheap iPhone. Well there's no cheap iPhone yet Apple is selling more iPhones than ever, especially in China. The last thing Apple needs to do is get into a race to the bottom with all these Android OEMs because no matter how low they go someone will always be there to undercut them.

Why did you buy one and what were you expecting it to do that it doesn't? It's not like the Watch was a mystery before it went on sale.

Btw, on Apple's earnings call the CFO said Watch sold more than the iPad did in its first 90 days n the market which would mean at least 3 million. In what universe could that be considered a flop?

Here's a chart of iPhone sales over time. How can the Watch be a flop when it's only been on the market for 3 month and hasn't even gone through a holiday season yet?

Don't know how many they sold, don't care. Went to the grocery store today and realized after I checked out I'd left my wallet at home and I started to freak a little (the line of people behind me was quite long) and then I saw the NFC symbol on the CC terminal and used Pay on my Watch. Saved the day! Also tracked my walk home, and controlled my music. i LOVE the Watch. Also love the look on peoples faces when I used the Watch to pay. I know that sounds a bit petty, and I'm sorry, but it's true.

Nice, same here. We totally dig on ours (wife and I both have 42mm sport models), it's been great for a fitness data, super handy for several other functions (keeping the phone stashed way more as the Watch is way more convenient, and in some cases far more effective/usable) :)

Why are people so hung about wanting to know how many Apple watches were sold?

Scenario 1) They sold well (darn it , competition and Apple haters are unhappy)
Scenario 2) They DIDN"T sell well (yay, competition and Apple haters are happy)

Everybody pick what scenario they like.

One reason: AAPL

Those that are hung up on how many watches are sold are most likely investors that want to know where to allocate their investing funds.

Maybe we need to figure out what the definition of "flop" is.

Is it selling more smartwatches than all other smartwatches combined... in just 3 months?

Is it bringing in almost a billion dollars in revenue?

Is it exciting thousands of developers to add Watch functionality to their apps?

Na... it can't be any of those things...

Maybe investors that have an interest in seeing FUD take the stock down. Most in esters care about one thing: iPhone sales.

Big deal.. It had a better launch than a product that was released almost 10 years when Apple was a smaller brand.

iPhone and iPad gained momentum and became hugely successful products, Apple Watch will go in the opposite direction. Despite all the hype, it had a pretty 'meh' launch for an Apple product in 2015 and my guess is that it will be forgotten pretty soon. Sure the rich people and Apple fanboys will wear them, but the average person doesn't care about this product. I haven't seen a single person wearing one and no one I know has shown any interest whatsoever.

I keep going back to what Cook said. It outsold the iPhone and iPad in the same time of release.

Important questions..

How many countries was the iPhone and iPad available in at release? 1 for iPhone and 1 for iPad (~60 days after initial release it was available in 9 more countries)
How many countries was the Apple Watch available in at release? 9 from the get-go

You seem to be quite concerned with the watch numbers that have been thrown around recently.
Yeah and I'd be doing the same if there was FUD iPhones. This has nothing to do with the Watch per se. I don't even own one. I just get annoyed when supply chain chatter and guesses are equated as fact. The only facts we have are what Tim and Luca said on the earnings call.
