Need new AirPods badly. Was getting 2 hours on a charge last night I got the low battery sound after only an hour of use :(

Yes. I’ve already wrecked one pair this way. Unfortunately, AirPods are the type of device that we do drain to 0% or close to, often, which is likely why the battery degradation is so severe compared to iPads or iPhones. In addition, I’d guess for most of us our iPads and iPhones are not seeing as many battery cycles per day as AirPods.

I find it hard to believe that new AirPods would release now and not September.

AirPower
AirPods 2
iPad Mini 5
New iPads
New Services
New iPod Touch

I am excite.
They are releasing them now for AirPower..

I really hope I can just buy a new case for my current ones.

Well yes I think every time you put them back in the case they start charging so they are bound to degrade further. I always put mine straight back into my case when I’m not using them so that I don’t loose them. I also have small children who might try and eat them so they have to be away for that reason too.

How long have you had your AirPods?
2 years and 2 months.

With this mindset, Apple would never be better. The AirPods do need improvement in Various areas, even though they are a great product.

1.) Siri could be improved with expanded features and capabilities.

2.) Water resistance rating should be added.

3.) Noise isolation is another consideration.

4.) Audio improvements

5.) Battery enhancements

Don’t forget more gestures. A slide for volume would be very welcome.

I usually don't care about colors but AirPods are getting popular and having at least a case with a different color would help people grab their own AirPods and not they're spouse's or coworkers's. I saw people putting stickers on the case and I guess it is for that very reason.
And people love choices when it comes to this kind of product, so at least a black and a gold option to match iPhone colors would be great. I'm not sure I'd like a product Red version of them on my ears (while I love the Red Xr) but it might work as well.

Oh.. Interesting.

If a low cost iPad with a bigger screen and less bezel comes out.. And if it's in the same price ballpark as the current 9.7" one, wow.. I might update from my old 9.7" iPad Pro.. I would think it might even cannibalise the smaller iPad Pro sales?

As long as the screen parallax isn't too terrible artists will buy it in droves. Its one thing having a super powerful mobile sketchbook, but even with mine I'm sometimes treating it with such care that it's not as immediate and throw-around as they (for example) show in their "what's a computer" ad with the kid.. I could buy 2.5 current low end iPads for the price I paid for my iPad Pro.. Presumably it'll be more durable (less bendy, lol) than the current pros too..

Basically comes down to how much RAM it has too. Fingers crossed it's bumped up. If not it's probably not worth it for me, but still promising for others.

Other than the fact that they look ridiculous when on...

Maybe it’s the white, maybe they are just a little too long? Not sure what it is that makes people look so stupid when wearin them

So my question is, how are the AirPods any different from the wired EarPods when wearing those, except the AirPods are just missing the wire. I just don’t understand how they someone can say they look ‘so ridiculous’ , when they literally resemble the wired earpods.

AirPods can be, and hopefully will be improved, in every major category. BT 5.x, SQ, UI, health features, IP rating, ergonomics, color, battery life. Amazing product, at least for myself, can't wait to get my hands on new, improved version.

Are we still expecting Airpods 1.5 or 2.0 in this event?

If it's an "s" upgrade then maybe we'll only see superficial improvements until 2.0 comes out.

They're looking very strange if the bottom part points out, dude from cnet for example...

Don't get me wrong, I think it looks great fun and if this happened, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

We'll find out in 11 days though :p

for you it looks like that, but it is the real thing, probably will be announce on stage or silent release a week from monday

Nothing to buy this time but looking forward to the keynote:); i might pick up more watch bands if they are nice enough

Darn. At first I read it as iPod not AirPods. I was hoping the iPod Nano was coming back. Just want a cheap iTunes compatible music player.

That is true for the "good enough" crowd. Next there are all other users
Other than improving the water resistance (which hasn't been a problem for me), there is little about the AirPods that cries out for improvement. This isn't true of very many products. Most of the features people are talking about improving are very minor, incremental improvements. Adding health features to the AirPods would probably be a very nice addition and it might change the product over time, but it's not clear that that will come with this release.

The fact that you couldn't bother listing any improvements shows how really good AirPods are right now.

None of my business how one spends their money but $50 for strips of Velcro or rubber is beyond bananas.

They didn’t last long. Maybe look for a more reliable brand? But I guess tossing a $160 product every two years to buy a new pair is exactly the type of consumer Apple wants.

Their startup connectivity reliability and talk-time battery life could absolutely be improved. And less slippery would be great. Aside from that I generally agree.
But is that worth putting out another $159 or more? This coming from a guy who used to upgrade everything the moment it came out. iPads, iPhones, watches(not computers, I’m not made of cash!). But really, I have my AirPods and if that’s all they update I’ll be in no hurry to grab some.
