guys remember to get ur orders in early if they announce these puppies. remember how hard it was to find the first versions? constantly sold-out

And a soft earbud construction to stay in better and reduce ambient noise. The $80 Apple headphones would be a good model for this. Mine are always falling out, usually at really inconvenient times (into the dog's water bowl, for example, or almost into a can of paint [thank goodness I have good reflexes and was able to swat them to the side as they fell towards the can!])

I completely forgot those even existed.

I’ve had the opposite experience...mine stay in very well. I always had problems running with wired ones especially in cold weather, and I figured out that it was the cord’s fault-the extra weight from the cord would swing the posts over that little bump at the bottom of my ear hole and pop them out. That doesn’t happen with the AirPods.

They won't. Apple hasn't changed the shape of the earphone since the wired ones came out long ago. If they just roughened up the surface a bit they would stay in easier.

I fear that merely giving the surface more friction won’t be enough for my ears. The shape of the AirPods themselves just aren’t compatible with my ears it seems. Instead of being held in, like the design is supposed to do, my ears constantly squeeze them out, slowly but surely. Yawning, laughing, sneezing, running, etc. makes them fall out immediately. In essence, they feel all wrong.
If only there was a way to 3D-print your own AirPods. Now *that* would be innovative.

Yes perhaps fit issues are true. They fit me very well and I joke around saying I could play football and not worry about them ever falling out. But a guy at work demonstrated how they didn’t fit his ear canals and fell out instantly, so it makes me realize or think about this “fit” issue more.

If there is a certain population that is not fitting AirPods well, then I think Apple definitely should make some kind of solution for it. AirPods are awesome but they have to make it fit every human somehow

At one time there was some kind of a thing that Beeped them. I actually used it once. Then I heard that they stopped doing this find feature thing. I have no idea if that feature was dropped or if it exists presently, But yes it’s needed for sure. One of the best features of the Apple Watch is that it allows me to find where my iPhone is.

Yeah, they don't fit me well at all and don't stay in my ears.

Oh.. Interesting.

If a low cost iPad with a bigger screen and less bezel comes out.. And if it's in the same price ballpark as the current 9.7" one, wow.. I might update from my old 9.7" iPad Pro.. I would think it might even cannibalise the smaller iPad Pro sales?

As long as the screen parallax isn't too terrible artists will buy it in droves. Its one thing having a super powerful mobile sketchbook, but even with mine I'm sometimes treating it with such care that it's not as immediate and throw-around as they (for example) show in their "what's a computer" ad with the kid.. I could buy 2.5 current low end iPads for the price I paid for my iPad Pro.. Presumably it'll be more durable (less bendy, lol) than the current pros too..

Basically comes down to how much RAM it has too. Fingers crossed it's bumped up. If not it's probably not worth it for me, but still promising for others.
More RAM for me too please.

A little parallax on the 2018 iPad, but the bigger issue for me is the freezes and bottlenecking the 2gb of RAM causes in Procreate. The non Pro iPad needs more RAM.
Otherwise, it’s fine for my drawing in Procreate and Sketches Pro.

Now this I find really interesting as I use procreate almost daily and your 2018 iPad is (on paper) fractionally faster than the iPad Pro 9.7 I’m using, and they both have the same 2GB RAM. I never get any slowdown, freezes, etc, and I’d probably consider my usage unusually taxing. I literally just want the ability to use more layers when working at 300dpi. :) I wonder if it’s to do with brush choice or something (I’m almost entirely pencil), or maybe the Pro has some secret sauce I’m unaware of? Hmm.

I’m going to have to do a lot of messing about in the Apple store if/when these appear.

Looking forward to black Airpods. More discrete with my dark hair. Bonus if the length is a little shorter than the current version.

That’s interesting to hear.

I was able to complete a multilayer piece yesterday without issue (the pink drawing) I don’t know the dpi though. I doubt it’s 300dpi as I have a custom size (850px by 850px) I draw in so the pencil strokes look more natural. Every so often the pencil and Procreate do not play nicely.

I do not remember how the Pros handled these, as the last two I tried had touch disease brand new out of the box.I do know I will not buy iPads from Best Buy ever again as the two 2018s do have home button issues (and I instantly returned those 10.5 Pros).

I am hoping the Mini keeps the existing chassis & display, and gains newer internals, including 3gb of RAM and pencil support.

Any rumors for new ipads having the smart pin connector?

I'm only going back in on ipad if I can have a smart keyboard but no way I'm paying ipad pro prices especially when they bend like a piece of bread.

Make a 12.9 inch iPad with the new form factor and non-Pro internals so I can just consume media without MacBook rivaling processing power I will never use 10% of.

This is my hope, as well. The Pencil 2 is what I really want. Hard to justify spending $1000 for an IPP to get it however. I could definitely do for $500 or so (trading in my Air2).
I am also still on an Air 2. Looks like the new Air announced today only supports Gen 1 unfortunately. There must be a technical reason for not moving to the Gen 2 with the Air line.

So..
Does anyone still expect apple to update the €359 standard ipad?
After yesterdays new ipad air and ipad mini releases, maybe they won't bother with an update for the cheap version anymore?

I’m banking on these coming out at the end of March, I asked for them as a belated gift for my birthday that’s actually tomorrow, lol.

Hahah, same here. My birthday was on the same day as yours, and my birthday card from my wife had an IOU inside for one "iPad Mini 5" !!

I too expected the end of March, but got caught by surprise with a release a week before the 3/25 Apple event. I ordered mine today, so it will come at the end of the 1st week of April.

I’d like the option to find my AirPods in a closed case.

As I have just lost mine I would love this too. I could retrace my steps from yesterday and wait for them to connect, or at least confirm they aren’t hiding at home somewhere.

If I have lost them, at least AirPods 2 will be out soon, hopefully.

Always look on the bright side.

Hey! Look what just came out with the new H1 chip.

How long have you had yours? And, not trying to be snarky, have you done the reset/re-pairing with them? I noticed that one of mine gave the low battery after like 30 minutes yesterday. Put them in the charger and they jumped from like 16% to 89% in like 30 seconds. Found something online stating I should try pairing them again (which I did). Battery reporting seems to be back to normal.

Since launch. And, they've been reset/re-paired about half a dozen times. It's so weird. I rarely leave home with them and have never dropped them, ran them through the wash, etc. I think my battery just sucks.
