Remember that Ive wanted to move back to England a couple of years back, and Jobs had to convince him to stay.

Since that point he's proven himself on just about everything Apple has done, save some lack of execution on iOS 7. Maybe he's just really ready to move on, and try either design on other subject matter, or try challenges outside of design.

Or maybe he once again wants to get the heck out of California. In particular, our taxation system dissuades high performers to stick around, and maybe he doesn't buy into the values of this place, either. (Speaking as a disgruntled Californian.)

This could be very substatial. If Apple lose Ive they are in real trouble, theman has been instrumental to their success since 97.

We all hope this is an error.

Hopefully he's stepped down from Senior Vice President of Design and has gone back to his Industrial Design role.

If you think your taxes in California are bad, you should check out the taxes in Ive's home country, the UK.

If Ive is leaving, god help Cook and his company. They'll be sunk within a year!

If Ive leaves it would be really, really bad for Apple indeed. But no, they won't be sunk within a year, that is just a ridiculous statement on so many levels.

Yep...

... as someone has already said, Ive is still on there.

This is the kind of thing that raises anxiety when it concerns someone as pivotal as Ive. Lets hope for an error.

Worrying

On the one hand it would seem to be strange to announce an Ive departure by first changing the website. On the other hand if he is leaving, announcing it on a long weekend with the stock market closed would be the way to do it...

Some of the comments on here are incredible. People feeling sick to their stomach? Stop being so dramatic. Its a technology company that make great products not your girlfriend cheating on you.

Apple will survive if he is gone, personally I can't imagine him leaving though he's too important.

Good thing the stock market is closed today, so nobody freaking panics out:mad:
I bet that public relations phones at Apple are burning out.

Markets are closed today. If you're going to drop this bombshell in February, today is the day you do it. Oh man.

Well, at least the markets are closed today, preventing any potential over reaction to a web page change, which could be in error. Though not sure why that change would be made to begin with.

Maybe...

Maybe they're updating the whole page to add Angela Ahrendts and Jony's profile needs to be moved along temporarily?

Company dynamics are a weird and wonderful thing. He could have had a disagreement, it could be they are just refreshing his picture...we don't know. I hope he isn't being shoved out IOS or not, the guy is an asset to Apple, and I want him to stay.
