Regardless the price, iPad is not going to be as profitable as iPhone. There are too many competitions with better design upon release.

* Thick screen bezel, the actual device will be much larger than 9.7" diagonal in size, not so portable, and looks like digital picture frame.
* Large portion of "soft" keyboard? How are we going to level the screen while typing? Screen reflection!
* Not so impressive UI design. Enlarged iPhone OS icons layout.
* Vendor lock in.
* Potential Levono "iPad" and Apple "iPad" infringement lawsuit.

What a lackluster product announcement! Many investors are going to get rid of AAPL while it's still above 200. Apple got so much cash, why can't it spend more resource on fixing other bugs than wasting time on this product?

I really had no interest in an apple tablet anyway, but no Flash kills the deal. Flash is needed to navigate the internet in any serious way these days. While I hate Flash as much as anyone, it's necessary. The iPhone without Flash is fine because the iPhone's Safari is better that any other phone. But with a 9.7-inch screen, there's no excuse for this not being a full-featured internet experience.

Wow, that thing is ugly, very ugly. Just a giant iPhone, that black border is so thick...

Own chip? ****... that means... you decide what apps I would be able to run (if I were to buy that ugly thing...).
What a waste! Basically you've spent most of the r&d for the chip (which is good but no investment on better usability), the rest is just a big iPhone :/

Interesting to note that AAPL isn't doing to well, down $4-5 (fluctuating). Usually it's in the green during these events (well for that past few Apple events).

No video conf = no buy for me :(
I can hold off until the next gen. or if/when its introduced.
I can already see this thing being a great boon on morning rounds at the hospital - quickly access Pt data / input labs, etc -

If its supposed to be my go to device for both home and work, I need it to have that iSight so I can talk to the Mrs. when out of town ...that and photobooth fun :D

This iPad is just a BIG iPhone, LOL. I'll stick with my iPhone. I bet the price for this thing is near $1,000. If that's the case, I'll just get a Macbook.

It's a nice niche product but wait a few generations. I want to see some of the style updates to the desktop OS X applications though.
