That's not true. ARM designs a lot more than the command set. It produces everything up to in-silicon design. Read here: http://www.arm.com/news/25922.html

Dude, I know exactly what ARM designs. But apple didn't just buy a soft core from these guys. They actually DID the design and just took an architectural license. This isn't like samsung who just buys core licenses and soft IP from ARM. I worked with the guys who did the design, and they did it from RTL down.

Folks, I don't know how many times it has to be said, but the rumors of an Apple Tablet device are FAKE. Steve Jobs himself has said that Apple is NOT interested in making a tablet device.

Repeat: NO tablet. So what WILL be announced today?

- New content deals for TV subscriptions on iTunes and Apple TV
- New iPhone OS 3.2/4.0
- New iWork and iLife 2010

::ahem::

would you like fries with those words? :)

So that's the product that is the most important that Steve has ever introduced and that he is "extremely happy" with?

Hmm.. a little underwhelmed. The bezel looks akwardly large, and that aside, it just seems to be an oversized iphone, with the same OS, very similar features, and not even flash!!! I think this thing looks like another Apple TV in the making. eek.

All they are showing off now is iPhone/iPod apps...but bigger versions of them. I am so disappointed!

Steve Sprang is showing off Brushes (my favorite iPhone app). **** looks ****ing sick as all hell! Wasn't too impressed at first, but this just sold me. Pogo stylus should still work fine, but won't be nearly as restrictive on a large screen.

its ****...
doesnt have cellular connectivity - so whats the point in having GPS?! This thing is just a massive iPod. Woo!!! I can play Flight Control on a big screen!

doesnt allow MULTITASKING - clearly its lacking on a smartphone - but to do it on a tablet - its like only having one window open at a time on a computer

Who the hell would actually buy this

So now we have to sift through iPad specific apps to make sure the apps we download are for the iPhone? I wonder if the iPad apps will be compatible for the iPhone especially if they are double the resolution.

I'm just stunned there hasn't been any mention of multitasking yet. You've got to be kidding me if that's not possible on 4.0 let alone the freaking iPad.

Is it me or does the polygon count look kinda low?

This looks like a product for doctors, field operations, and graphic artists.

Brushes looks like a very cool app on the iPad. It's safe to say Apple is not releasing a MS Paint type of program. It's a bit of a bummer. I was hoping they would do their own application.
