To everyone stating that the logos are obviously different, and that there is no confusion, that is the point of the suit— to confirm that the court agrees with you.
Personal opinions don't matter. Just like on any university assignment. You are just quoting already said research or judgements that you just happen to agree with. Apple is seeking to have such a judgement handed down so they can agree with it. (or disagree and then take a trip to the appeals court).

Look up trademark law and the result of not defending this.

Apple (or any company in a similar situation) must do this to defend their mark.
First they came for the banana trademarks, and I did not speak out -
Because I wasn't a banana.

Then they came for the peach trademarks, and Apple did not speak out -
Because I wasn't a peach.

Then they came for the pear trademarks, and Apple did not speak out -
Because I wasn't a pear.

Then they came for the apple trademarks - and Apple slapped an trademark infringement on them so fast it made their heads spin.

I’m sure it’s been said here before but no one reads every comment so I’ll say it again. If you have a trademark and don’t defend it you lose your trademark. If Apple did not sue for infringing on the trademarks they would lose the right to the trademark

Very doubtful. Seniors 60-70 years old can go supermarket shopping and tell the difference between fruits they want to buy.

no. a particular fruit is usually 1 color. a brand logo can take on many different colors. combine the fact that this brand didn't exist when they were kids while fruits and supermarkets did makes it even harder.

my mom one time got confused at my brother's columbia jacket and thought he got a new job at a tech company (she was getting confused with Sun Microsystems since the two logos were slightly similar).

Apple does not own a trademark to minimalist fruit design or right-angled leafs sorry, this is just ridiculous.

The two designs are distinct, that pear does not remind me of Apple's design in the slightlest.

That image is a great example in literal black and white. Their issue is, graphically, the ripoff of the leaf. This is not an issue over people confusing the Apple with the Pear, or confusing the companies.

No; from an artist’s standpoint, whomever created that pear logo used another company’s logo as inspiration - specifically for the leaf, and got a little too close to copyright infringement.

If the Tropicana Orange had a leaf drawn the same, there’d be another lawsuit. Of course people aren’t confusing them for that computer company. It is what it is unfortunately.

Search minimalist fruit logo and you'll see hundreds of minimalist fruit illustrations with angled leafs 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yes and bring a product to the market with one of those logos and you’ll find yourself sued. I think I mentioned in an earlier post that Apple must defend their trademark or they lose it. In case you missed that post just so you know Apple must defend the trademark or they lose it

Or, you know, they took inspiration from nature, where leaves appear next to fruit all the time. Would it be different if the leaf was going in the other direction? Or does Apple now own all iconography featuring leaves near fruit?

Oh look, free publicity for a small company that nobody has ever heard of before and nobody would have ever heard of if not for that legal stunt. What a coincidence...

But will that publicity translate into profit for prepear? That is what matters in the end.
