Basically what they are saying is, if you are intent on complaining about an issue that is present everywhere else, you are just looking for something to complain about. Like the iPhone for all its other features. Don't hate it for a so called "issue" that you will have no matter where else you decide to go.
But if you decide to go, don't let the proverbial door hit you in the a$$.

Rightly said. Great marketing ploy. Apple owes a good portion of its success to this.

What are you trying to prove?

Is it ok for every one to take on apple, but it is not ok for apple to return the favor ?

Always remember: Droid Does (have similar vulnerabilities indicative of all cell phones)

My iPhone 4 does not have the issue, I have had all three and I can tell you the iPhone 4 has 5x better reception. Final I can get all of them to drop bars by how I hold them!!!:apple::apple::apple:

You remind me of an Apple fanboy sir.

You're good with numbers though. I wouldn't be able to assume my signal reception is 5 times better.

I think Apple knew of this issue all along - hence the Bumper being introduced simultaneously. [No official Apple cover/case for previous iPhones; can't imagine they were made to turn a profit. More like 'Plan B' to me.]

Everyone I see with an iPhone invariably has it in some kind of case/cover anyways... Just all seems like such a non-issue really.

Besides how obviously sad it is that Apple is stooping this low...
If they're saying all phone attenuate like this, then the bumper won't even help the iPhone 4.

You can show this issue with the bumper on the iPhone. The real problem is different and unique to the iPhone. Apple should grow up and stop lying. This sort of thing will keep getting worse as people realize its untrue.

See my previous post:

Suspicious started when Apple just so happened to release their first Apple-branded "case" (aka, the Bumper) after 4 years of producing phones. And it JUST so happens that this new design was to completely cover the outer stainless steel band that just so happened to be the "minor" flaw in design that started this whole mess.

Apple lost my respect.

Basically the "Apple Design Team" made a decision to design the iPhone 4 with an industry wide known flaw, because they found it acceptable. I thought Apple held themselves to higher standards and didn't settle for being average.

I'm a long time supporter of Apple, but after hearing Steve Jobs makeup excuses, and not being straight forward with his customers, I'm hesitant to recommend Apple products to my clients. I feel Apple's word has lost its value. It's true that Apple users love their Apple products, but many of us feel let down with the iPhone 4 release.

And the childish finger pointing continues. I feel like I'm 8 again.

Apple has now appointed itself as the phone antenna monitor. Look mommy, the other boys are bad so it's ok for me to be bad too. Apple’s PR responses designed to deflect attention from their own problems are pathetic!!!!

That's because the company that was once the hip cool underdog is now "the man".

I hate when plumbers cling on and talk to me about technology. Poor clients... ;)

Oh, and it's spelled "straight".

What is Apple trying to show? The iPhone 4 has the same bad signal issues other phones have? This is not a typical Apple move -- they usually showcase the positives of their own products.

Don't get me wrong; I love my iPhone 4. I just want Apple to move on and keep highlighting the positives.

Right on!!!!!!

That's a pathetic post.

We can't fix it so we'll attack our competitors.

Apple continues their pettiness--I think maybe it's time for Jobs to leave.

Apple is doing this because of the huge threat of Android.

Android is eating Apple's lunch in the smart phone market and soon the tablet market.

When you are scared and desperate you take desperate measures--just what this is.

It is to laugh.

Why are Android fans so paranoid?

It's amazes me that there is so much fear amongst the Android fanboys. Why are they so paranoid? Could it be that they know Apple will always produce better products and it's becoming evident that customers simply aren't listening to them?

So, they'll squeal as much as possible. Actually, they did manage to lift a non-issue to a ridiculous level, but that's all done now. As Linux proved, you can't just throw a junk OS out to the masses and expect quality products.

Oh, I do thank Android for killing off WinMo, but I'm sure Apple could have done it without help.

Sorry dude, I hope poor Apple can survive with your support. :p

Exactly! Instead of FIXING the problem, Apple just sidesteps all the problems, questions, and concerns and turns to finger pointing!

Hmmm...out of the LITERALLY BILLIONS of cellular phones that have been in literally BILLIONS of people's hands for the last 20+ years, nobody has ever heard of this problem...until now with the iPhone 4...and Apple is totally grasping at straws to promote that it is a widespread problem.

I have used 4 cell phones non-stop since 1997 and NONE, including my 10 month old iPhone 3GS, HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM!

If it were truly a fact of life, we all would have heard about it before...and NONE of us would have SCREAMED when the iPhone 4 failed to work! Hello?! McFly?! The world screamed when this issue popped up and we screamed because IT...IS...A...PROBLEM....people don't scream at things that happen normally in life (like my refrigerator running just fine or my car starting when I turn the key or my faucet dispensing water when I turn it).

Shheeeeez. Apple...either fix the problem (not a bumper WORKAROUND thank you very much) or be sure this never happens again in your future iPhone releases.

Why Apple is even digging itself deeper into this hole by YAPPING and keeping the public aware is beyond me...Apple definitely sounds like a cry-baby here...unable to admit a design flaw and a simple promise to fix it or at least promise it won't happen again.

And on a side note, yes, Android is a very serious threat to iPhone...numerous friends I know have ruled out Blackberries and are leaning towards the Android...for lots of reasons. Me?...I love my 3GS (my first iPhone) but by the time I am able for a somewhat inexpensive iPhone upgrade it will be iPhone 5 and I'm sure the Android market will be even hotter then than it is now.

Fan of Apple yes, Asian no, but thanks for the complement.
Caucasian 165lbs 45yrs old wife & 2 kids from So.Cal, thanks for caring.
BTW we all have iPhone 4’s with no drop calls, 2 iPads, 2 MacBook Pros and 1 I Mac and unfortunately 2 PC’s. Anything else?

You make me feel bad for my retort. I'll digress to meekness.

Are you confused?

you can't get the iphone 4 to drop bars in many places either. It only happens if signal strength is already sub-par.

Though there's no doubt many iphone 4s exhibit this behavior more strongly than the other phones apple names.

Exactly, which is ok. My gripe is the way Apple handled it and continue to handle it.
