Then why don't previous iPhones have the same problem?
they do. I can make my 3GS drop bars easily in bad coverage areas (my bb curve too). But the problem isn't as bad AND it's not as obvious because there isn't a carefully marked spot.

I think he has a very valid point...not pathetic at all.

It's amazes me that there is so much fear amongst the Android fanboys. Why are they so paranoid? Could it be that they know Apple will always produce better products and it's becoming evident that customers simply aren't listening to them?
So, they'll squeal as much as possible. Actually, they did manage to lift a non-issue to a ridiculous level, but that's all done now. As Linux proved, you can't just throw a junk OS out to the masses and expect quality products.
Oh, I do thank Android for killing off WinMo, but I'm sure Apple could have done it without help.
Apple is trying to tell people like you the simple facts by demonstration. Chill out.
That's because the company that was once the hip cool underdog is now "the man".
Con mi Nokia 5530 también pasa lo mismo, lo agarro con la mano completa y pierde la señal :-(
Just like Microsoft killed Apple. Oh wait, Microsoft gave Apple a cash injection to save their butt. Would Mr. Jobs have done that if the shoe was on the other foot?

I'm typing this on a droid x right now and can't replicate
Apple is looking more like the guy on the forums that won't stop arguing with you. He will just keep spamming and spamming until you get so tired of what he/she is saying you just get turned off. This is how Apple is behaving now.
My respect for Apple has gone down the drain since the Antenna press conference. Trying to blame other companies for their own mishaps is creating a lot of enemies and attempting to put other mobile phone companies into the mix when they shouldnt be involved.
Apple should be completely ashamed of themselves. How stuck up can they be? I am a beloved iPad owner but all this nonsense will diminish Apple's brand. No wonder why theres so many apple haters out there... Because of behavior like this.
This is real class, Apple.
Not only does no one actually hold their phone like that, I couldn't get that to happen to a number of X's.
What did apple do to get the phone to go into that mode? There's no 3G or even 1X displayed and it shows 4 bars. What are they not showing us here? What else is interfering? This smells and I don't like it one bit.
This is sad, I'm officially ashamed to own Apple products...![]()
I hate when plumbers cling on and talk to me about technology. Poor clients...
Oh, and it's spelled "straight".
Wow, if you have no response, try manipulating history. That is truly pathetic.

We can't fix it so we'll attack our competitors.
Apple continues their pettiness--I think maybe it's time for Jobs to leave.
Apple is doing this because of the huge threat of Android.
Android is eating Apple's lunch in the smart phone market and soon the tablet market.
When you are scared and desperate you take desperate measures--just what this is.
Here's the thing, everyone else has Ben playing dirty with their videos ofthe iPhone 4. Apple fights back and now everyone considers Apple to be the beast. Apple is fighting fire with fire.
That's good to know - perhaps most never really paid attention to general cell phone attenuation before the media fest.I have used 4 cell phones non-stop since 1997 and NONE, including my 10 month old iPhone 3GS, HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM!
Yet, how else would the media stay viable?....people don't scream at things that happen normally in life.
Surely, they're continuing to evaluate and study the situation, while working on additional solutions - 30 days, and counting....Shheeeeez. Apple...either fix the problem (not a bumper WORKAROUND thank you very much) or be sure this never happens again in your future iPhone releases.
Design flaw to you, dramatic improvement for many here, especially for those who actually own one....unable to admit a design flaw and a simple promise to fix it or at least promise it won't happen again.
