This will always be an interesting video to watch just because it's him, but what makes you agree with his sentiment that Apple has forgotten what it takes to make great products? They're the richest company in the world with some of the highest rated products. Unless I'm missing something?

People on this forum are so guilty of observation bias it's not true.

They will ignore/explain away the success & innovative nature of the A-series processors, AR kit, Apple Watch, iPad Pro with Apple Pencil, 5K and 4K iMacs, Apple's modern ability to "chew gum and walk at the same time", etc and instead focus on the weakest areas of the company.

"Their original content strategy is crap compared to Netflix". Well, ****, I should hope so, they're just experimenting at the moment, and it just so happens that this area of experimentation means showing the public some of the experimental content.

And it's on YouTube, not Apple Music. I wonder what Apple's content strategy is?

More than 1 billion additional potential viewers by going with YouTube rather than Apple Music. As it's obviously a promotional tool for them, not a revenue tool, why not reach a far far far larger audience with your advertising than a much more limited audience who is already using your product?

Also, this is a movie, not music. Why would you put a movie on Apple MUSIC?

Can we finally admit that Apple is no longer a tech company and is now a marketing/media company?

Given that the company is made up of >60% iPhone sales, around 7% iPad sales, around 11% Mac sales and 13% services, I would argue "No, we can't say that".

Apple is relevant today because of it's hardware products, plus some key services like iTunes, iCloud and Apple Music.

I can't believe that needed to be put in writing, but maybe it shows how out of touch with reality people on this forum are.

Apple Music seemed to be the destination so far for their original content.

Plus, iTunes managed to sell films, TV shows and apps so it's not without precedent.

Relevance. Apple wants to stay relevant and all these media shows so far have been to paint it and its products in a relevant and favourable light.

More marketing, essentially.

awesome, apple doing thier own Battlefield Earth........ this is embarrassing.

I very much doubt Jobs saw this crap coming when he hands the reigns to Cook.

Nobody actually drives during the car chases.

Take that, Pierce Brosnan.

In my opinion the problem isn't the movie it is more that Siri isn't any good. There are improvements with iOS 11 but that still needs improvement.
