And it's on YouTube, not Apple Music. I wonder what Apple's content strategy is?
Apple has now become the company that just does stuff... like Microsoft under Ballmer.

There is no reason for it, it makes no sense, but we have too much money laying around so let's give it all to marketing and let them do stuff for no reason and without any aim.

STEVE SAID IT BEST (starts at 00:19)

Even dead, Steve is a better CEO than Tim Cook.

I personally have no use for Siri. But I've seen Dwayne Johnson in a number of different movies. He does not seem to take himself too seriously for an entertainer and I like that about him. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this only because of him.

I guess to put it another way, for a celebrity, Dwayne Johnson seems to be a pretty humble person.

More than 1 billion additional potential viewers by going with YouTube rather than Apple Music. As it's obviously a promotional tool for them, not a revenue tool, why not reach a far far far larger audience with your advertising than a much more limited audience who is already using your product?

Also, this is a movie, not music. Why would you put a movie on Apple MUSIC?

No, it's not a movie. It will probably be a few minutes long.

But products that don't need painting in a relevant light. The App Store and Siri are hardly irrelevant. And why would it make content to do product placement, when it could (and does) pay existing media companies to feature Apple products?

My guess is to gain the experience necessary to start producing even longer films. It's no small secret that Apple is looking to enter the video streaming market as well, and this could be them dipping their toes in the water before we see a full feature length film from them.

Plus you don't wait until you are on the cusp of irrelevance before you start panicking and deciding to do something to stay relevant.

Aboveavalon addressed this topic before, so it's hardly surprising to me why Apple is doing so.

Apple has to get some fresh blood in who understand what good original content is. This kind of **** is tarnishing Apple's brand.

At least that makes more sense than a Xeon iMac.

How so?

A Mac Pro is going to be a niche product purchased by only a very small group of Mac users. The money Apple earns from it likely doesn't even begin to cover the cost of R&D and support.

The redesigned cooling system of the iMac Pro could eventually make its way down to the current iMac lineup and result in less thermal throttling and better performance overall. That's a win for all future iMac users, which is surely a way larger addressable market.

It feels like watching a comedy of a company going downhill and making ridiculous moves to stay relevant. Is this reality? What universe am I in?

Surely it seems you're not in this universe, where Apple completely owns markets, wallets and minds.

A Xeon iMac is even more niche than a Mac Pro.

Why waste time on that instead of addressing the current iMac cooling needs then?

speaking off, remember when Apples Carpool Karaoke was supposed to come out? that thing was cool over a year ago. they r always so embarrassing when it comes to pop culture.

next thing you know they are going to use „thats so lit“ in their advertising

apple should just buy netflix to avoid even further embarrassment.
This is a short video no different from the short videos they show at the beginning of WWDC. It's on Youtube and promoting Siri in a fun way. Not sure why so many people don't understand the content strategy nor obvious tongue in cheek nature of this release.

Even Apple doesn't see itself as a computer company. Don't forget - it was Steve Jobs himself who instituted the change.
Yes because 'computer' is an obsolete term. Computers are in everything so Apple Computer makes no sense to any consumer.
