What if Apple TV DVR went right to the Cloud servers? Is that even possible at this point? I suppose they could have TiVo servers sending data directly to the Cloud servers and just use the Apple TV to connect to the cloud directly and stream like netflix. Or find some other way to send the data directly to Apple instead of requiring your TV to send the data to Apple to stream back.

So a Slingbox?

Anyone else notice the bad grammar? (sentence fragment)

It's a way of marketing. Apple and other companies tend to use bad use bad grammar to get the audience's interest.

Think Different.

Technically, it should be "Think Differently." Either way sounds good to me. Another example is in Star Trek, "To boldly go…" is a split infinitive but sounds better than "To go boldly…"

Why would having the Beatles on iTunes be a day I will never forget

The Beatles were absolutely famous and one of the longest running bands I know of as well as inspiring countless other singers/songwriters for the the last 40+ years. However, doesn't seem like the kind of thing Apple would make this much hoopla about.

Putting songs on the cloud does make sense considering the "You'll never forget" part. Apple likes to do include subtle hints with these kinds of announcements.

Spotify really is a superb app. Apple will be hard pushed to beat it.

£10 says it's something that is identical to Spotify.
Personally though, I hope it's an admittance that Ping is a dud, iTunes is going 64bit and the icon will be redesigned and not just stolen out of Microsoft Office's clip art gallery.

I agree. But i think more people are aware of iTunes. Especially in the US which, excuse me if i'm wrong, They don't have it?

WGAF. Its gonna be yet another anti climax. iTunes cloud based so what? Extortionate prices and rentals for everyone outside the US and hardly any content for those outside the US. How about Apple take some of that squillion pounds they have got stashed a way and make the whole AppleTV platform universal across the globe.

Whatever it is in true Apple fashion it will be half heartedly developed and tested therefore will be released and full of bugs and heartache for all those adopt. Then they will cover it up as best they can. On top of all that the new iTunes looks like Fisher Price overhauled it with that ****in stupid colour scheme and icon. Dont get too excited folks, your setting yourself up for a disappointment. Meh.

Most certainly a iTunes for the Web because if you notice its says, ; 'Check back HERE for an announcement FROM (not in or at) iTunes'. This imply's that you would proberly have to check on Apple's Site rather than through the iTunes app itself; This also explains the set international times in the US and UK too.

Just another odd theorem

Kinda Surprised and excited :D

The same message is showing up in iTunes application as well under the home for the iTunes store.

I still expect them to announce a video stream for this event -- maybe streaming from their new data center.

There won't be an event since they didn't invite anyone to cheer!
Jobs announcing something revolutionary into a camera followed by silence? Funny thought ;-)

... Never forget...

Maybe it's a cloud based time machine backup?

they're going to let me re-download crap i accidentally deleted? that would be nice. and modern.. and competitive. itunes' model is somewhat outdated at this point.

Apple VS Facebook! (Fight!)

At apple, they try to "kill" the hype of todays Facebook event? (Creating his own "hype")... Some ideas?

Just to preserve my predictions (not necessarily anything that hasn't been mentioned before):

1. Tomorrow is absolutely about the purpose of the new data center, although they'll coin a cool name for it - not "data center," not "cloud" - something sexier. The timing is commensurate with more info on iOS 4.2. In some way, the data center becomes and intricate part of 4.2.

2. Apple will entice us to move our music to that center. My guess is they will create some sort of hybrid in between uploading our music and a subscription service. They will develop some way that the data center "knows" if you have a song, and if you do, you can stream the data center's one copy (so to speak) of that song to your device. (Yes, big brother-ish, but that's got to be the way it's headed.)

3. My guess is they entice us to do this by lowering the price of me.com and expanding the things it offers. Yes, that is vague I know.

No, nothing original. Just preserving predictions.

Have no clue what to expect, I only ever use itunes for music, nothing else..
