We wish.

"you'll never forget" implies that you will not have to worry about or forget to sync content to iDevices as it will all be easily accessible in the cloud.

That is a logical explanation. I think we will see more than one announcements. Itunes streaming, iOS 4.2 and an AppleTV update.

Maybe it is EST because the data center is on the East coast and they will do the announcement from there?

Maybe. But this is also big enough of a deal to Apple that they scheduled it right during the markets being open, news cycle at its prime, etc.

Never Forget

Apple loves to drop hints in the invite. 'Never Forget' sounds like cloud based to me.

I love Apple PR.

What could be important enough to tease on their home page and not important enough to warranty an event?
(I assume there will be no event at 7am Cupertino time)

It will be at 10am North Carolina time. ;)

This is when they announce that Airplay was just an experiment they aren't going to support in the future.

My guess would be a new iTunes subscription model along with iOS4.2 for AppleTV which will include support for the subscription service (and video AirPlay).

What's the range like between Spotify and iTunes? iTunes seems like it lacks some labels and genres a bit, but for some reason I think Spotify might cover more.

Spotify i'd say is a bit hit and miss. has some real random stuff but misses a lot of the more relevant artists.

If iTunes is moving to the cloud they will attract a lot more attention from record labels and it will the norm place to go for music.

They're finally going to fix the alarm clock on my iPhone? How exciting!

Hence all the clocks on the home page......

Apple announces a working Daylight-Savings-Time implementation for iPhone in all countries all over the world.

Why would having the Beatles on iTunes be a day I will never forget

I never new The Beatles weren't on iTunes but i thing iTunes going to a subscription service will see lots of record labels leaning toward itunes as its going to be the best way of keeping revenue without everyone continuing to download dodgy music.

Thanks for that, and I hope you're right. There's some great specialist sites for certain music and it would be great if they were attracted into iTunes as well.

Whatever it is, this place will be full of negativity this time tomorrow, I've no doubt about that ;)

Ah yes. Like this:

“Sounds very revolutionary to me. hey – heres an idea Apple – rather than enter the world of gimmicks and toys, why dont you spend a little more time sorting out your pathetically expensive and crap server line up? or are you really aiming to become a glorified consumer gimmicks firm?”

The countries getting this on the apple web page are those with iTunes music stores, I believe that all of these countries will get the new iTunes thing. I don't think it will have to do with MobileMe because it isn't on every countries website.
